Small blisters on feet are very itchy

If you find small blisters on your feet, do not ignore this problem, because blisters on the feet are a type of athlete's foot problem caused by fungi, which is also contagious. Especially at night, the small blisters on the feet will become extremely itchy and may even be accompanied by peeling. What are the treatments for itchy blisters on the feet?

What to do if blisters appear on the instep?

Athlete's foot is an infectious foot skin disease caused by fungi, which is prone to recurrence. Long-term treatment is required to see the effect. A course of treatment for athlete's foot takes at least one month. Why does it take so long? This is because after the fungi are killed, some fungi will still remain, and it takes at least a month for new skin tissue to grow well. If the medication is stopped right after the fungi are killed, it will easily parasitize on the new skin tissue and cause recurrence. If the case is like old athlete's foot with thick keratin hyperplasia, the treatment time needs to be extended, and Tianchao also needs to take some oral medications during the treatment. Experts remind that the most important thing in prevention, treatment and cure is to keep your feet clean. You must wash your feet with warm water every day and wear breathable shoes and socks. Only in this way can you keep your shoes and socks dry. If one person in the family has athlete's foot, they need to be cured thoroughly to prevent it from being passed on to other family members.

Why does athlete's foot occur?

Fungus growing on the skin

Athlete's foot is caused by a fungus that grows on the skin and thrives best in warm, humid conditions. Although mild climates may encourage the growth of the bacteria, sweaty shoes and socks are usually the culprit. Once you have athlete's foot you will need at least a month to treat it. Worse still, they will come back unless you eliminate their source. Athlete's foot will not go away automatically. After washing your feet, carefully dry each toe.

Also make sure the towel is used only once and not by anyone else. Pay attention to your toenails: Toenails are a favorite breeding ground for mold, so clean them at least every 2-3 days.

When scraping nail dirt, remember to use wooden products such as toothpicks or matchsticks, and do not use metal pieces for scraping nails.

Cut raw garlic into small pieces and put them in your shoes and wear them for a few days.

Types of athlete's foot

1. Erosive type: first soak in 1:5000 potassium permanganate solution or 0.1% refonal solution, then apply gentian violet or athlete's foot powder externally, twice a day, and after it dries, apply athlete's foot ointment or tinea versicolor ointment externally, twice a day.

2. Blister type: Soak your feet in hot water and apply clotrimazole anti-tinea lotion or compound salicylic acid tincture once a day. After the skin is dry, apply athlete's foot cream or tinea pedis ointment.

3. Keratotic type: Apply compound benzoic acid cream externally, or apply it alternately with compound salicylic acid alcohol, once in the morning and once in the evening. It is best to wrap it with plastic film after applying the medicine so that the medicine can penetrate into the thick skin and facilitate peeling off the thick skin.

What is the correct way to treat blisters?

1. If the blister is small, do not break it. Not only will the pain get worse, but it will also make it more susceptible to infection. Treatment method: Cut a hole in the center of the Band-Aid that is the same size and shape as the blister, and put it on the blister to level the surrounding areas of the blister. Then put another layer of Band-Aid on the blister and the Band-Aid with the cut hole. This will prevent the blister from being affected by friction.

2. If the pain from larger blisters is unbearable, drain the fluid accumulated in the affected area to relieve the pressure caused by the blisters. The standard approach is: first clean the affected area with disinfectant alcohol, then use a sterilized steel needle to pierce a small hole at the edge of the blister, and gently squeeze out the liquid in the blister. Then apply disinfectant lotion or ointment. Finally, cover the wound with tape or dressing. It should be noted that you should never cut off the blister skin.

3. If the blister has broken and formed an open wound, it needs to be disinfected, bandaged, and covered with a clean soft cloth.

Experts remind that athlete's foot blisters can be broken, but infection must be prevented. You should wear more breathable shoes, preferably leather shoes. If it is summer, try to wear sandals all summer to expose the infected area. Insist on soaking your feet in potassium permanganate tablets every day for at least 20 minutes. Your feet will be dyed red by the potassium permanganate tablets when soaking, but the stain will fall off after a few washes after healing. After soaking your feet, apply medicine to the infected area and use hand soap to absorb it quickly and repeatedly to avoid bacterial infection and tinea manuum. Socks worn every day should also be cleaned with potassium permanganate to prevent bacteria remaining on the socks from being transferred to the feet again.
