How many days does it usually take for bruised eyes to recover?

Because of the trauma, subcutaneous bleeding will occur. Although the skin will not be damaged, a purple patch will be left at the bottom of the eye. This patch may generally disappear in about a week. Local hot compresses can promote blood circulation and recovery will be relatively fast. Most cases will recover in less than a week, three or four days. It depends on the specific factors that cause the patch.

Eye bruises usually heal in a few days

The situation is cyanosis caused by subcutaneous hemorrhage. Subcutaneous hemorrhage is mostly caused by rupture of subcutaneous capillaries due to trauma. The symptoms are cyanosis, redness, swelling and pain. Your situation has been clearly caused by trauma. It is recommended that you apply cold compress to the affected area within 24 hours after the trauma, and hot compress to the affected area after 24 hours to facilitate the absorption and disappearance of the hematoma. During this period, pay attention to keep the affected area clean and dry, avoid massaging, scratching and stimulating the affected area, so as not to induce continued bleeding.

Subcutaneous hemorrhage, medically known as purpura, refers to purple-red spots that bleed under the skin and do not fade when pressed. Bleeding with a diameter of less than 2 mm is called a bleeding spot; bleeding with a diameter of 2 to 5 mm is called purpura; bleeding with a diameter greater than 5 mm is called ecchymosis; and patchy bleeding accompanied by obvious protrusions is called hematoma. Subcutaneous bleeding caused by unintentional trauma in people's daily lives will generally be gradually absorbed; however, if there is a hemostatic dysfunction, large subcutaneous bleeding can occur with just a slight touch, or spontaneous subcutaneous bleeding can occur without any injury. There are three main causes of subcutaneous bleeding:

Vascular factors: Bleeding of the skin and mucous membranes caused by congenital or acquired defects in the blood vessel walls. For example, hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia, due to increased local fragility of blood vessels, often bleeds repeatedly at the same site; Henoch-Schönlein purpura is a capillary allergic disease, due to the deposition of antigen-antibody complexes on the blood vessel walls, causing capillary dilation and increased permeability, leading to purpura or bleeding; the elderly are prone to senile purpura due to loose tissues and increased fragility of blood vessel walls.

Platelet factors: Platelets play an important and complex role in hemostasis. When the number or quality of platelets is abnormal, it often leads to bleeding of the skin and mucous membranes. In severe cases, there may be internal bleeding, such as bleeding in the digestive tract, urinary tract, respiratory tract, uterus, and even brain.

Coagulation and anticoagulation factors: Lack of coagulation factors or excess of anticoagulation factors in the blood can also cause large bruises on the skin, but deep hematomas or joint bleeding are generally more common.

Frequent subcutaneous bleeding often indicates a bleeding disease. Patients should go to the hospital in time to further find out the cause and receive treatment accordingly.
