What are the benefits of acupuncture

In our country, acupuncture is a very traditional treatment method that can solve physical discomfort. Many people choose acupuncture. People without diseases also use acupuncture for health care because they think acupuncture can stimulate the acupoints and achieve a quick conditioning effect. In fact, this is not the case. Acupuncture does have benefits, but we should also pay attention to symptomatic treatment, and the effect will be better. Don't do acupuncture blindly.

Benefits of Acupuncture

1. Unblock meridians

Meridians "belong to the internal organs internally and connect to the limbs externally." One of its main functions is to circulate Qi and blood. If the meridians are blocked, the circulation of Qi and blood in the human body will be hindered. Clinical manifestations include pain, numbness, swelling, ecchymosis and other symptoms.

Acupuncture can select corresponding acupoints and acupuncture techniques, as well as use of three-edged needle pricking to induce bleeding, so as to make the meridians unobstructed and the circulation of qi and blood normal.

2. Harmonize Yin and Yang

The function of acupuncture in harmonizing yin and yang is to transform the body from a state of imbalance between yin and yang to a state of balance, which is the ultimate goal of acupuncture treatment.

The mechanism of disease occurrence is complex, but generally speaking it can be summarized as an imbalance of yin and yang. The function of acupuncture in harmonizing yin and yang is achieved through the yin and yang properties of the meridians, the combination of meridian points and acupuncture techniques.

3. Strengthen the body and eliminate evil

The process of disease occurrence, development and outcome is essentially a process of struggle between good and evil. The purpose of acupuncture in treating diseases is to play its role in strengthening the body and eliminating evil.

The characteristic of acupuncture therapy is that it does not rely on taking medicine to cure diseases. Instead, it uses needles to penetrate certain parts of the patient's body to stimulate nerves and cause local reactions, or uses the warmth of fire to stimulate and burn the local area, in order to achieve the purpose of curing the disease. The former is called acupuncture and the latter is called moxibustion, collectively known as acupuncture therapy.

Acupuncture is basically safe and reliable, and can be used in conjunction with other therapies for comprehensive treatment. But one possibility cannot be ruled out: if you accidentally choose an irregular Chinese medicine practitioner, there may be risks. Acupuncture needles must be sterilized or used one per person, otherwise they may cause infection. Some people also give acupuncture to themselves without permission, which may cause injuries or puncture of internal organs because they do not have professional knowledge.

Who is not suitable for acupuncture?

1. Patients with diabetes or skin diseases

The body healing ability of diabetic patients is very poor. When small pinholes appear on the body, it may cause wound ulceration or infection. Therefore, diabetic patients must not undergo acupuncture. Patients with skin diseases such as skin infections, dermatitis, and skin ulcers cannot undergo acupuncture, otherwise it will aggravate their condition.

2. Women with coagulation disorders and menstruating women

Patients with coagulation disorders may experience continuous bleeding during acupuncture, and it is difficult to stop the bleeding, which is very dangerous. In addition, women’s bodies are in special conditions during menstruation and pregnancy and cannot undergo acupuncture, otherwise it will cause physical discomfort.

3. Infants and young children

Acupuncture cannot be performed on infants and young children, for example, the fontanelle point, Fengfu point, and Yamen point cannot be acupunctured, otherwise it may cause unexpected harm to the body.

This article introduces the benefits and related contraindications of acupuncture. I believe that everyone should have some understanding of acupuncture now. If necessary, you can choose a regular hospital to find an experienced Chinese medicine doctor to do acupuncture. Generally, there will be no problems.
