What should I do if my eyes are blurred

Few people may know the term "hordeolum", but if we mention stye, I believe everyone must have heard of it. In fact, "hordeolum" and "hordeolum" are the same, and are also called hordeolum. This is a type of inflammation that we often see in our daily lives. So what should you do if your eyes become blurred? Here I will introduce to you some classifications of eye sprains and related treatment methods.

Clinically, eye syncope is divided into:

External hordeolum

It will be itchy at first, and the itching will become stronger and stronger. The eyelid will be locally edematous and congested, with distending pain or pain when blinking, accompanied by tenderness. A nodule can be felt near the eyelid margin. The pain is particularly significant in the lateral canthus, and the outer conjunctiva will also become edematous. When the inflammation is severe, the stye will cause diffuse redness and swelling on the upper or lower eyelid.

Internal hordeolum

The eyelids are red, swollen and painful, mainly because the inflamed meibomian glands are surrounded by dense meibomian fibrous tissue. The redness and swelling are generally milder than that of external hordeolum, but the pain is more severe. The visual experience will be greatly affected. Before the abscess breaks through, the corresponding conjunctival surface becomes congested and may break through on its own. In rare cases, pus can be discharged from the ducts of the meibomian glands, but it is more common for the pus to break through the barrier of the tarsal plate and conjunctiva and flow into the conjunctival sac. After the pus is discharged, the redness and swelling subside.

Treatment for internal hordeolum is similar to that for external hordeolum:

Apply local hot compress in the early stage to promote the absorption of infiltration and nodules, or promote suppuration. Topical antibiotic eye drops and eye ointments are used. Broad-spectrum antibiotics such as quinolones or ofloxacin are generally used for eye drops.

In mild cases, the disease may resolve on its own with or without treatment, leaving no stye scar. Or after a few days, the nodule may rupture, pus may be discharged, the redness, swelling and pain may disappear, and a scar may remain at the corresponding ruptured site. Severe cases require surgical treatment, and scars may be left at the surgical incision. Severe inflammation may be accompanied by swollen lymph nodes and develop into eyelid cellulitis, accompanied by systemic symptoms such as chills and fever. If the blepharitis is immature or has already ruptured and discharged pus, squeezing the nodule can cause the infection to spread, leading to serious complications such as cellulitis and cavernous sinus pus plug.

In terms of prevention, it is generally recommended to eat a light diet, eat less spicy and stimulating foods, and eat less greasy foods. Pay attention to eye hygiene.
