In fact, this situation is related to damage to the nasal mucosa, but sometimes it is also related to some diseases. So, what exactly causes nasal secretions to contain hair and blood when inhaling? When blood comes out of the nose from the clear channel, it is called epistaxis. It is a common disease. It is mainly caused by excessive heat in the lungs, stomach and liver, which forces blood to flow abnormally, causing blood to overflow from the clear channels and flow out of the nostrils to form epistaxis. A few cases are also caused by kidney deficiency or qi deficiency. Nosebleed is also called epistaxis. When the amount of nosebleed is large, it is also called nosebleed or mega-nasal bleeding. That is the common nosebleed.

Local causes

1. Primary: Clinically, many patients cannot find a clear cause of nose bleeding, which is more common in children or adolescents. The bleeding site is mostly in the Lee area of ​​the nasal septum and is easy to stop on its own.

2. Traumatic: Damage to the nasal mucosa when picking the nose is a common cause of nosebleeds.

3. Nasal septum deviation and perforation.

4. Nasal inflammation: such as acute rhinitis, sinusitis, atrophic rhinitis, etc.

5. Tumor: Benign or malignant tumors in the nasal cavity, sinuses or nasopharynx can cause nosebleeds.

6. Environmental factors: dry air and low air pressure can easily cause nose bleeding. Dry air in air-conditioned rooms can also cause nose bleeding.

Systemic causes

1. Hypertension and arteriosclerosis.

2. Increased venous pressure.

3. Systemic hemorrhagic diseases: such as coagulation mechanism disorders, platelet abnormalities or capillary lesions.

4. Endocrine disorders.

What causes sudden nosebleed?

For patients with nosebleeds, the treatment should follow the principle of "treating the symptoms in an emergency" and use various hemostatic methods to stop the nosebleed. Commonly used external hemostatic methods are as follows:

1. Cold compress method: apply a towel soaked in cold water or an ice pack to the patient's forehead or neck.

2. The compression method is to use your fingers to rub the patient's hairline 1-2 inches in the midline, or pinch one or both sides of the nose to stop bleeding.

3. The guiding method is to soak the patient's feet in warm water, or mash garlic and apply it to the Yongquan acupoint on the sole of the foot. It has the effect of drawing heat downward and helping to stop bleeding.

4. For nasal drops, grind scented ink into a concentrated juice and drop it into the nose. You can also use nose drops or 1% to 3% ephedrine solution.

5. The nasal blowing method uses powders of blood residue charcoal, puffball, herb frost, Panax notoginseng powder, Yunnan Baiyao, etc. to blow into the nasal cavity. You can also put the above medicines on cotton pads, stick them on the bleeding area, or fill the nasal cavity.

6. If the above methods of nasal packing fail to stop the bleeding, gelatin sponge or vaseline gauze can be used to pack the affected nasal cavity; if the bleeding still fails to stop, posterior nasal packing can be performed.

What causes sudden nosebleed?

Acupuncture

(1) Epistaxis due to actual signs: The main acupoints are Hegu and Shangxing. For the combination of acupoints, Houxi is used for those with excessive heart fire; Chize is used for those with excessive heat in the lung meridian, and Shaoshang is also used to cause bleeding; Shangjuxu is used for those with excessive stomach heat; Taichong and Qiuxu are used for those with excessive liver fire. Acupuncture is used to treat the symptoms of urinary incontinence.

(2) Nosebleed due to deficiency syndrome: take Shangxing and Sanyinjiao. Method: The patient takes a semi-sitting position, first needle Shangxing, then Sanyinjiao, stimulate gently, and retain the needle for 20 to 30 minutes; no moxibustion is done after acupuncture at Shangxing, but moxibustion can be applied for 3 to 5 times after acupuncture at Sanyinjiao.

Diet therapy

(1) Lotus root juice and honey dew: Wash an appropriate amount of fresh lotus root, squeeze out 100-150 ml of juice, add 15-30 grams of honey, mix well and take orally. Take once a day for several days.

(2) Imperata root and bamboo sugarcane water: 60-120 grams of Imperata root and 100-300 grams of bamboo sugarcane, boil in water and drink as tea.

(3) Mash 90 grams of leek root into juice and drink it with urine or cold boiled water.

(4) Wash and chop a handful of fresh leeks, put them in a clean mortar and pestle, pound them, wrap them in a cloth and squeeze out the juice, put them in boiling water and stew them, take 1 glass each time.

(5) Black bean, longan meat and jujube soup: 50 grams of black beans, 15 grams of longan meat, 50 grams of jujube, add 3 bowls of water and boil until 2 bowls remain. Take in the morning and evening.

(6) Stewed Pork with Chinese Gangmang Fruit: 60g of fresh Chinese Gangmang fruit (15g of dried fruit), 60g of lean pork, add 3-4 bowls of water and simmer until 1 bowl remains, then drink in divided doses.

(7) Houttuynia cordata and red dates soup: 50 grams of Houttuynia cordata, 8-10 red dates, add 2 bowls of water and boil until 1 bowl remains, remove the residue and drink the soup.

Note: (1) to (3) are suitable for epistaxis due to actual symptoms. (4) to (7) are suitable for epistaxis due to deficiency syndrome.
