Safflower oil is a common medicine in many households. It is used for treating injuries and bruises, and promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis. In fact, safflower oil also has a good effect on patients with frequent headaches or itchy skin. Especially for people who are learning martial arts and other skills, safflower oil is an indispensable medicine for protecting bone health in their daily life. However, safflower oil is not a panacea, and it cannot effectively cure some symptoms. So can safflower oil cure rheumatism?

Can safflower oil treat rheumatism?

The correct usage and dosage of safflower oil should be: pour an appropriate amount of safflower oil into the palm of your hand, then apply it to the injured area, rubbing it while rubbing to allow it to penetrate into the skin so that it does not cause a spicy sensation. Apply 4 to 6 times a day.

Rheumatism in medicine refers to chronic pain of unknown cause in the joints and surrounding soft tissues. Rheumatic diseases refer to a large class of diseases with different causes but the common feature is that they affect the joints and surrounding soft tissues, including muscles, ligaments, bursae, and fascia.

The main effects of safflower oil are to dispel wind, activate blood circulation, reduce swelling and relieve pain. Used for external analgesia of rheumatic joint pain, numbness of hands and feet, and bruises and burns.

It can be seen that this product is very effective in treating rheumatism.

In the following three situations, use safflower oil with caution:

1. When there is local swelling after sprain

When human tissue is damaged by external force, it will show an inflammatory reaction. A large amount of fluid will seep out of the blood vessels to the sprained area, causing local swelling, which then compresses the nerves and causes pain. This reaction usually reaches its peak within 24 hours. If safflower oil, which has a blood-activating effect, is used at this time, it will accelerate local blood circulation and increase exudation. Not only will it fail to achieve a therapeutic effect, but it will aggravate local swelling and pain. At this time, you should rest, elevate the affected limb, and apply cold compress immediately to help blood vessels contract and reduce swelling and pain. After waiting for 24 hours, apply safflower oil to reduce inflammation, disperse blood stasis and relieve pain.

2. When local bruises appear

The appearance of bruises indicates that blood vessels are damaged and bleeding. If safflower oil is used immediately, it will not only fail to stop the bleeding, but will also aggravate the bleeding. At this time, local cold compress should be applied to the sprained area to promote hemostasis. After the bleeding stops, apply safflower oil or other drugs to reduce swelling.

3. When the skin is broken

Because safflower oil contains a large amount of volatile ingredients and is very irritating, if applied directly to broken skin, it will make the injury worse and even induce infection.

In addition to the above precautions, there are also the following precautions when using safflower oil:

1. Do not use if the wound is ulcerated, bleeding or exuding. If applied at this time, it will aggravate bleeding and exudation, which is not conducive to wound healing.

2. Use with caution if you have allergies. The composition of safflower oil is complex, and some people may have allergic reactions, leading to rash, allergic purpura, and even anaphylactic shock. Therefore, people with allergies should use safflower oil with caution. If it must be used, apply a small amount first and observe whether there are any allergic reactions. If allergic reactions occur, stop using it immediately and wash it off.
