Gastrodia elata Hezhang is located in the western part of Guizhou Province, China, in the upper reaches of Liuchong River, the northern source of Wujiang River, and adjacent to Yunnan Province. The county is known as the "Hometown of Gastrodia elata" because of its abundant production of Gastrodia elata. Hezhang County, Bijie City, Guizhou Province is rich in Gastrodia elata. The local geographical location is in the northwest of Guizhou Province, on the sloping area of the Wumeng Mountains where the eastern Yunnan Plateau transitions to the Qianzhong hills.
