How to treat finger fracture

How to treat finger fracture

Whether in life or work, we cannot do without the labor of our hands. It is inevitable that we will encounter difficulties of this kind. When we fall or carry heavy objects, we will inevitably hurt our fingers. Severe cases will cause finger fractures. Once you encounter this situation, you must pay special attention and take some treatment methods to restore the fingers to normal, otherwise it will affect your work and life. So what are the treatment methods for finger fractures?

1. When a finger is injured or fractured, you need to go to the hospital as soon as possible to take necessary measures and get checked. If you feel abnormal pain in your fingers and they become abnormally deformed, you should go to the hospital for treatment as soon as possible. Generally, fractures need to be fixed with plaster or wrapped with thick bandages to prevent friction and damage to the fractured site. After a period of time, X-rays will be taken for follow-up examinations, etc. Be sure to follow your doctor's instructions.

2. Drug treatment. You can take some blood-activating and blood-stasis-removing medicines such as Panax notoginseng powder, Panax notoginseng tablets or Panax notoginseng capsules appropriately, but they should not be taken for a long time and should be taken in a fixed amount, otherwise eating too much may damage the stomach. Some other Chinese medicines that promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis, such as safflower, peach kernel, motherwort, etc., can be taken orally after frying in appropriate amounts. Saffron can also be used for external application.

3. It is not advisable to eat spicy or irritating foods in the early stage of fracture. In the early stages of a fracture, you should quit smoking and drinking, eat less spicy and irritating foods, and avoid eating too much high-protein foods. You can eat more vegetables and fruits, such as: tomatoes, radishes, blueberries, hawthorns, yams, cabbage, grapes, black fungus, shiitake mushrooms, etc. Try to eat more foods rich in vitamin C and maintain a balanced nutrition.

4. In the middle and late stages of a fracture, you can eat more high-protein foods and dishes rich in calcium and zinc. When you are almost recovered, you can eat more high-protein and calcium-containing foods, such as bone broth, milk, dairy products, and soy products. You need to drink more water or some soup to replenish water. However, it is not advisable to eat too much seafood, otherwise the wound will not heal easily.

5. Do some rehabilitation training appropriately. When the pain is tolerable, do more rehabilitation functional training. In the early stage, you can do some small movements, such as slightly bending and stretching your fingers, doing some grasping movements, or using your other uninjured hand to lightly press the injured area, do some local massage, etc. This can prevent stiffness at the fractured finger and play a certain role in recovery.

6. If your fingers hurt during rehabilitation training, you can soak your fingers in hot water. Some patients may feel unbearable pain when doing finger rehabilitation training. At this time, you can get a basin of hot water and soak the fractured hand in the hot water, or boil a towel and apply it to the injured area. You can do rehabilitation exercises while applying hot compress, which will relieve the pain.

7. Occasionally make a bowl of red bean porridge and eat it to help the recovery of finger fractures. Soak the adzuki beans in warm water for three hours, then put them into a pot, add appropriate amount of water and cook until they are soft, then add glutinous rice or stalk rice and cook until it becomes porridge. You can also directly add the soaked red beans to water and brown sugar and boil them for consumption. The method is very simple.

8. Keep a relaxed and happy mood. No matter what kind of disease you have, maintaining a good and optimistic attitude is conducive to recovery. It is recommended that patients try to divert their attention when they feel pain in their fingers, think about things that make them happy, forget the pain, and continue to do some rehabilitation training exercises in the later stages of finger fractures.
