What does thigh flesh twitching indicate?

Many people will feel the flesh in their thighs twitching from time to time. This belongs to the muscles and nerves. Normal physiological changes will cause great fatigue to the body, so you must strictly control it in normal times. First of all, you must pay attention to improvement. In the hot summer, people can easily suffer from neurological dysfunction due to excessive sweating. You should go to the hospital for relevant examinations and perform massage and conditioning when necessary.

Common causes

1. Fatigue: When the body is tired, the normal physiological functions of the muscles will change. At this time, a large amount of lactic acid will accumulate in the muscles, and lactic acid will constantly stimulate muscle spasms.

2. Electrolyte imbalance: Sweating a lot during exercise, especially in hot climates, will result in a large amount of electrolyte loss. The main components of sweat are water and salt. Salt is related to muscle contraction. Excessive salt loss can make muscles excited and cause cramps.

3. Cold stimulation: In cold climates, such as when exposed to cold water while swimming, especially if warm-up exercises are not adequate, muscles are prone to cramps. The main reason is that the muscles become more excitable due to the cold.

Treatment

1. When cramps occur, don't be nervous. First check and determine which muscles are cramping, and then treat the muscles there.

2. When muscle spasm occurs, the pain can usually be relieved by simply pulling the spasming muscles in the opposite direction to stretch them. Pay attention to keeping warm during treatment, apply even traction force, and avoid violence to avoid muscle strain.

3. When the abdominal muscles cramp, you can do back stretching exercises to stretch the abdominal muscles. You can also apply hot compresses and massage the abdomen.

4. When the calf muscles cramp, straighten the knee joint, tiptoe up, hold the feet with both hands and pull upwards with force.

5. Don't panic when you have muscle cramps while swimming. Take a breath, float on your back, and ask for help immediately. The way to save yourself in the water is to hold the cramped toes with the hand on the side that is not cramped, pull them toward the body with force, and press the knee of the cramped leg with the palm of the hand on the side that is cramped to help straighten the knee joint. After the cramp is relieved, slowly swim to the side that is cramped.
