What medicine to use to treat aphids

Many people may not have heard of aphids, but I believe everyone is familiar with honey bugs. In fact, honey bugs and aphids are the same insect, just with different names. What should we do if we encounter aphids in life? What kind of medicine should we use to treat them? Are there any other ways to solve this problem besides medicine? When we are excited to grow some potted plants or flowers, we find that a lot of honey bugs are born after just a few days of cultivation, which is a headache for those novice growers. Here are some methods to prevent and control aphids so that you won’t be bothered by aphids when growing potted plants.

1. Use the smell that aphids like

Aphids like the sweet smell and scent of willow. You can use sweet and sour wine (dissolve white sugar in hot water, not too much water, then add vinegar and wine, until there is a sweet smell), put it in a small cup of white wine or a small measuring cup for drinking medicine, and put it next to the affected plants in the evening when aphids are active.

This method is used by small families. Use willow branches, rub them into a pulp, and tie them into bundles to attract a large number of aphids, and then kill them in a concentrated manner. Suitable for large areas with severe disasters. Because plants have certain defense capabilities, there is no need to worry about the harm caused by a small number of aphids.

2. Use wood ash water

It is more convenient to mix wood ash (the ash left after burning hay) and water in a ratio of 1:5 and spray it on the affected plants where aphids are present. It can also supplement potassium fertilizer, killing two birds with one stone.

3. Using the phototaxis of aphids

Use black light, which can be used in any occasion. It can not only kill aphids, but also avoid other pests.

4. Use irritating pepper water or chili water

Take a certain amount of dried chili peppers or Sichuan peppercorns, boil them in boiling water until the water changes color, wait for the water to cool down, remove the impurities, and then spray the chili (Sichuan peppercorn) water on the affected plants. The effect is quite obvious.

5. Use of insecticides

To 1 gram of urea, add 1.25 grams of laundry detergent and 100 ml of water to make a solution. Use a small spray tube, but do not use it too frequently.

Use imidacloprid according to the instructions on the package and it will not damage the flowers.
