What are the symptoms of advanced lung cancer? There are 6 symptoms of advanced lung cancer

Lung cancer in the late stage is very difficult to treat, but as long as measures are taken to actively treat it, the patient's survival period can be greatly extended, and there is even the possibility of cure. In addition to understanding the early symptoms of lung cancer, it is also necessary to understand the late stage of lung cancer. Lung cancer patients often cough and have blood in sputum. Lung cancer in the late stage should be checked regularly and treated accordingly.

1. Lung pain affects chest pain, shoulder and back pain. Pain is a common symptom in advanced patients. Most patients with lung cancer that has spread regionally within the chest have symptoms of chest pain. Peripheral lung cancer often develops posteriorly and upward, eroding the pleura, involving the ribs and chest wall tissue, and causing shoulder and back pain. Such patients rarely have respiratory symptoms.

2. Severe edema of the face and neck. Severe edema is one of the main manifestations of advanced lung cancer. If the tumor invades the right side of the mediastinum and compresses the superior vena cava, it will initially cause the jugular vein to become swollen due to poor reflux, and eventually lead to edema of the face and neck, which needs to be diagnosed and treated in a timely manner.

3. Difficulty breathing and even suffocation. As lung cancer continues to worsen, some patients often suffocate to death due to difficulty breathing.

4. Symptoms of abnormal bone and joints. Once lung cancer develops to the late stage, lung cancer cells can produce certain special endocrine hormones, antigens and enzymes. These substances act on the bone and joint parts, causing bone and joint swelling and pain, often involving the tibia, fibula, ulna, radius and other bones and joints. The ends of the fingers and toes often swell and become clubbed. X-ray examinations can show periosteal hyperplasia (periosteal hyperplasia [Translation]: also known as periosteal reaction, is due to the stimulation of the periosteum, the activity of osteoblasts in the inner layer of the periosteum increases to form new bone in the periostium.).

5. Continuous and recurrent pleural effusion. In the late stage of lung cancer, the patient's chest cavity often has effusion. Even if the effusion is drained out, it will often regenerate after a short time.

6. The lesion affects the throat and the patient has a hoarse voice. Numerous clinical experiences tell us that the recurrent laryngeal nerve that controls the left side of the vocal function runs from the neck down to the chest, bypasses the large blood vessels of the heart and returns up to the larynx, thus controlling the left side of the vocal organ. Therefore, if the tumor invades the left side of the mediastinum and compresses the recurrent laryngeal nerve, hoarseness will occur, but there will be no sore throat or other symptoms of upper respiratory tract infection.

Patients with advanced lung cancer should never give up treatment. Life is precious and should be cherished as long as there is a glimmer of hope. The family members of patients should be patient and give advice. Healthy friends should pay more attention to it in their daily lives and try to prevent it. Don't regret it when you get sick. Family members and friends should remind each other more often so that everyone can have a healthy body.
