What are the diagnostic methods for lung cancer? These methods can diagnose lung cancer as early as possible

Only with the diagnosis method of lung cancer can patients find out the disease in time

In today's society, the incidence of lung cancer is extremely high, and it is more common in men than in women. If lung cancer is not diagnosed in time, the patient's condition may worsen and may not be cured. Therefore, everyone should understand the diagnosis of lung cancer in advance to detect the condition as early as possible. Let's take a look at the specific methods for diagnosing lung cancer.

Lung cancer is diagnosed by:

(ii) X-ray negative, sputum negative: Patients with hemoptysis and/or dry cough and the three major risk factors for lung cancer diagnosis should undergo repeated sputum cytology examinations, and at the same time, regular anti-inflammatory treatment should be given for lung cancer diagnosis; fiberoptic bronchoscopy (bronchoscopy) and video fluoroscopy can be considered. This is also a diagnostic measure for lung cancer.

(III) X-ray positive, sputum negative: local tomography should be performed for masses or nodules. For lung cancer diagnosis, transbronchial lung biopsy (TBLB), percutaneous lung biopsy, or aspiration for cytological diagnosis can be performed if conditions permit. Continuous sputum examination should be performed at least twelve times. If repeated sputum examinations are still negative for lung cancer diagnosis, thoracotomy and frozen section biopsy should be performed. This diagnosis of lung cancer is more common.

How can bronchoscopy be used to diagnose effectively?

As the most common primary lung malignancy, most lung cancers originate from the bronchial mucosal epithelium, so it is also called bronchial lung cancer. Therefore, fiberoptic bronchoscopy is essential for the diagnosis of lung cancer.

Necessity of fiberoptic bronchoscopy

Since lung cancer is a tumor that occurs in the bronchus, especially those early tumors are difficult to detect through X-ray or CT scans, bronchoscopy, which can directly observe lesions in the trachea, has become a very effective means. Currently, most lung cancer patients are diagnosed through bronchoscopic biopsy or cytology examination.

Advantages of fiberoptic bronchoscopy

Fiberoptic bronchoscopy can be performed under local anesthesia, is easy to operate, and causes less pain to the patient. The visual range reaches the main bronchi, lobar bronchi, segmental bronchi, and subsegmental bronchi. Tissue can be taken from the lesions for pathological examination, and cells can be taken from the lesions with a small brush for cytological examination to achieve a clear diagnosis. After observation through bronchoscopy, doctors can stage lung cancer according to the scope and severity of the lesions to guide the selection of appropriate treatment plans.

Bronchoscopes have many uses

Bronchoscopy can not only effectively diagnose lung cancer, but also has a wide range of uses in treatment. For example, for some tracheal tumors, bronchoscopic tumor resection can be performed to avoid the pain of surgery. In addition, for lung cancer patients who are not suitable for surgery, cryotherapy, injection of chemotherapy drugs, photodynamic therapy, stent placement, intracavitary radiotherapy, etc. can be performed under bronchoscopy.
