What should I do if breast hyperplasia and bleeding occur?

Breast hyperplasia is a common breast disease, ranking first among breast diseases. Many women suffer from breast hyperplasia, which causes great psychological trauma. They are always worried about cancer and losing their breasts and becoming incomplete women. In fact, this is unnecessary. Don’t worry too much in your daily life. If you actively treat the disease and don’t miss the best time for treatment, it will not turn into cancer. So, what should we do if breast hyperplasia and bleeding occur?

Breast hyperplasia refers to the proliferation of breast epithelial and fibrous tissue, structural degeneration of breast ducts and lobules, and progressive growth of connective tissue. It is the most common breast disease in women and should be prevented in advance.

(1) Breast pain is often characterized by distension or stabbing pain, which may affect one or both breasts, with one breast being more severe. Patients with severe pain cannot touch the breast, and the pain may even affect their daily life and work. The pain is mainly in the breast lump, and may also radiate to the affected armpit, chest, flank, shoulder and back; some people experience nipple pain or itching. Breast pain often occurs or worsens a few days before menstruation and is significantly relieved or disappears after menstruation. The pain may also fluctuate with mood changes. This pain related to the menstrual cycle and emotional changes is the main feature of the clinical manifestations of hyperplasia of the breast.

(2) Breast lumps: Breast lumps can occur in one or both breasts, in one or more breasts, and are more common in the upper outer quadrant of the breast, but can also occur in other quadrants. The shapes of the lumps include flake-shaped, nodular-shaped, cord-shaped, granular-shaped, etc., among which the flake-shaped is the most common. The lump has unclear boundaries, is of medium or slightly hard texture, has good mobility, has no adhesion to surrounding tissues, and is often tender. The lumps vary in size, with small ones being as big as millet grains and large ones exceeding 3 to 4 cm. Breast lumps also change with the menstrual cycle. The lumps become larger and harder before menstruation, and shrink and soften after menstruation.

(3) Nipple discharge A small number of patients may experience nipple discharge, which is spontaneous and has a straw-yellow or brown serous appearance.

1. Regular inspection

To facilitate early detection and timely treatment.

2. Take your medication regularly

This disease is a serious endocrine disorder. The diseased tissue is poorly sensitive to drugs, the lumps disappear slowly, and the treatment time is long. Sometimes it takes oral medication for six months to a year to take effect.

3. Surgical complete resection

It is the best treatment method for local lesions. That is, as long as the large local lesions are removed, a positive therapeutic effect can usually be achieved. If there is an obvious tendency towards cancer, or if a biopsy confirms a precancerous lesion, a simple mastectomy should be performed for safety. In addition, when patients experience galactorrhea, care should be taken to distinguish it from hyperprolactinemia or amenorrhea galactorrhea syndrome to avoid misdiagnosis.

Patients should eat more vegetables and fruits rich in fiber. This can prolong gastric emptying, prolong the time for food to pass through the digestive tract, reduce fat absorption, inhibit fat synthesis, lower hormone levels, and facilitate the recovery of breast hyperplasia. Eating more cabbage, sweet potatoes, leeks, celery, pomegranates, kiwis, etc. is also a very good choice.
