What should I do if I broke my waist?

It is very common to suffer a lumbar fracture. Such a fracture will greatly affect the patient's activities and the treatment is relatively complicated. However, it should be noted that after a lumbar fracture, the patient must stay in bed to rest, which is very helpful for the recovery of the waist. So what should we do if we suffer a lumbar fracture? The specific treatment method can be based on traditional Chinese medicine, which can well alleviate the patient's condition.

Fracture treatment with TCM

Electroacupuncture.

(1) Acupuncture point selection. Main acupoint: Ashi point. Humerus: scapula, Quchi; radius and ulna: Quchi, Hegu; femur: Xuehai, Biguan; tibia and fibula: Zusanli, Jiexi. Associated acupoints: Neiguan, Hegu, Zusanli, Yanglingquan. Location of Ashi point: center of fracture, that is, between the broken ends (same below).

(2) Treatment methods For the main acupoints, use the Ashi point each time and alternately use one of the acupoints on the upper and lower ends of the fracture. For the auxiliary acupoints, use two points on the healthy side alternately (one upper limb point and one lower limb point each time). After getting the qi, turn on the DC electroacupuncture device. Local acupoints: The fracture center, i.e., Ashi point, is connected to the negative pole, and the other acupoints are connected to the positive pole; whole body acupoints: the upper limbs are connected to the positive pole, and the lower limbs are connected to the negative pole. The current is 20 to 40 microamperes, or until the patient feels a needle sensation and the muscles contract significantly. It is a continuous wave with a frequency of 2 to 3 times per second. 30 minutes each time, once a day, 6 times as a course of treatment. There is a 1-day interval between treatment courses.

(III) Evaluation of therapeutic efficacy A total of 80 cases were treated with the above method, including 54 cases of fresh fractures. The clinical healing time of fractures was shortened by 15 to 22 days compared with the time of the domestically recognized integrated Chinese and Western medicine treatment. In the 26 cases of old fractures and slow healing group, tenderness disappeared, longitudinal percussion pain and false joints disappeared, and the appearance of callus, functional recovery, and fracture healing time were significantly advanced [1-3].

Laser acupuncture

(1) Acupuncture point selection. Main acupoints: Cervical vertebra fracture: Dazhui, thoracic vertebra fracture: Shendao, Zhiyang; lumbar vertebra fracture: Shenshu; sacral vertebra fracture: Changqiang. Matching acupoints: Ashi point.

(2) Treatment methods Focus on the main acupoints, select according to the symptoms, and add Ashi points as appropriate. Use a low-power helium-neon laser to irradiate each acupoint for 10 minutes, with a total of 20 to 30 minutes each time, once a day, 10 times as a course of treatment, and 1 day off between courses.

(III) Evaluation of therapeutic efficacy This method is mainly used to treat vertebral fractures. A total of 29 cases were treated. After 3 to 20 treatments (an average of 12 times), 12 cases were cured, 15 cases were significantly effective, and 2 cases were effective, with an overall effective rate of 100%[4].

Bloodletting

(1) Acupuncture point selection. Main acupoint: Ashi point. Ashi point location: local swelling.

(2) Treatment methods Use a sterilized three-edged needle to pierce the hematoma directly to the point below the periosteum; for those with long-term fractures, cupping should be applied after bloodletting, and manual reduction can be performed after the blood clots flow out, and local fixation can be performed with a splint.

(III) Evaluation of therapeutic efficacy This method was used to treat fractures near joints in 24 cases. The results showed that 20 cases had rapid swelling reduction and good healing, 2 cases had no hematoma reduction, and 2 cases had limited joint flexion and extension. The total effective rate was 83.3%.
