Disadvantages of contact lenses

Disadvantages of contact lenses

Many people suffer from myopia. Most traditional frame glasses do not look good when worn on the face, and they will press on the bridge of the nose, causing many inconveniences in life. Therefore, more people choose to wear contact lenses. Indeed, they feel thinner than frame glasses, and they look no different from people who do not wear glasses. However, everything has two sides, and contact lenses also have their own disadvantages.

The disadvantages of contact lenses are as follows:

1. First time wearing. Poor maintenance. Foreign body sensation.

2. Improper fitting or improper use may cause keratitis.

3. People with dry eyes, trachoma, keratitis, or excessive secretions are not suitable for wearing.

4. Workers in bad working environment, such as places with strong wind, dust, volatile acids and alkalis in the air (cement factory), and a lot of oil smoke are not suitable to wear it.

Contact lens care details:

1. Experts recommend that the companion box be replaced every three months.

2. Even if the refractive power is the same, you cannot wear the left and right lenses together, as this can easily lead to cross infection.

3. Every time you take off the lens, you must ensure that the lens is completely submerged in the solution, otherwise the lens will be twisted when the cap is put on, wasting your money.

4. The general shelf life of the medicine is three months after opening the bottle. Note the opening date when opening the bottle. Expired medicine can cause eye infection.

5. Nails are too sharp, which can easily damage the lenses.

6. No matter how busy you are at work, you must soak and disinfect for at least four hours.

7. If you do not wear contact lenses for a long time, make sure to change the contact lenses once a week in winter and every 2-3 days in summer.

8. From a health perspective, the shorter the duration of the lenses, the healthier they are.

Because contact lenses fit perfectly with the cornea and are integrated into one, they have the following advantages:

1. Real image: Because the frame is 12mm away from the cornea, the image of the object will be magnified or reduced, especially in high myopia. To put it bluntly, the objects seen through contact lenses are more realistic.

2. Clear field of vision: The frame will block part of the line of sight. The higher the degree of myopia, the greater the difference in the edges, and the greater the prism effect. Because the invisible lens is of consistent thickness, no prism will be produced.

3. Comfort: The pressure of the frame weight on the bridge of the nose, the friction on the ears, and the skin allergies.

4. Safe and convenient: Frame glasses will not fog up in air-conditioned rooms, masks will not fog up when riding a bike, and athletes do not have to worry about contact lenses breaking or being damaged, or facial injuries.

5. Beautiful appearance: actors and hosts look more approachable and can better show their natural beauty when wearing contact lenses; cosmetic contact lenses are the favorite of fashionistas: for people with severe myopia, the beer bottle-like lenses are perfect.

6. This is a blessing for those who have large refractive errors and find wearing frames uncomfortable and unsightly.

7. It can effectively prevent the bulging of eyeballs.
