Where is the lumbar pelvis located

There is a very important bone in the human body, which is composed of three bones: cervical vertebrae, lumbar vertebrae and coccyx. Therefore, if there is a problem in one of these three bones, it will affect the other two parts. You must have often heard from the older generation that a person with a large pelvis is better at giving birth. Most people are not very clear about the exact location of the pelvis. Next, I will introduce to you the specific location of the pelvis in the human body.

The pelvis is the bone. From where we tie our belts to above the thigh bone is collectively called the pelvis. It is a whole, shaped like a basin. The child sleeps in this cradle. The lower opening of the pelvis is where the child comes out. Of course, the older the child, the easier it is to give birth naturally. However, a big pelvis and a big butt are one of the most important features of a woman's sexiness.

It is composed of the falcon bone and the medullary bones on both sides. Its shape is like a basin, so it is called the pelvis. It is divided into two parts: the upper greater pelvis and the lower lesser pelvis.

The main function of the pelvis is to support body weight and protect the pelvic organs. In women, it is the channel through which the fetus is delivered. The normal female pelvis is wider and shallower than the male pelvis, which is conducive to the delivery of the fetus.

Since the size and shape of the pelvis have a great influence on childbirth, the sizes of some diameters of the pelvis should be measured during prenatal examinations to understand whether there will be any difficulties during childbirth.

The structural connections of the adult pelvis include the sacroiliac joints, sacrotuberous ligaments, pubic symphysis, and sacrospinous ligaments.

Lumbar spine

There are 5 lumbar vertebrae, the vertebral bodies are tall, higher in the front and lower in the back, and are kidney-shaped. The vertebral foramen is large and triangular in shape, larger than that of the thoracic vertebrae and smaller than that of the cervical vertebrae. In the sagittal plane, the articular surface of the superior articular process is concave and faces posteriorly and medially, while the articular surface of the inferior articular process is convex and faces anterolaterally. There is a mastoid process on the outside of the upper joint, and the spinous process is a square bone plate that protrudes horizontally backward. The transverse process is short and thin, extending posteriorly and laterally. There is a small nodule on the posterior and inferior side of the root, called the accessory process. During the development process, the transverse process is homologous to the rib, and the accessory process should be the true transverse process. The transverse processes of the 1st to 3rd lumbar vertebrae gradually grow longer, with the 3rd lumbar vertebra being the longest, and those of the 4th and 5th lumbar vertebrae gradually becoming shorter. The vertebral body of the 5th lumbar vertebra is particularly large, and the front of the vertebral body is particularly high. When the 5th lumbar vertebra connects with the sacrum, it forms a promontory that convexes forward.
