How does purslane treat eczema?

1. Eczema is a common allergic skin disease caused by exogenous stimuli and endogenous inducing factors. It recurs repeatedly and is difficult to cure. Western medicine believes that eczema is a type IV allergic disease, and is mainly treated with local treatment plus systemic anti-allergic treatment. Traditional Chinese medicine can also achieve good results by applying fresh purslane to the affected area to treat acute eczema.

2. Purslane has the functions of clearing away heat and detoxifying, cooling blood and stopping bleeding. Modern pharmacological research shows that Purslane has the effects of relaxing muscles, lowering blood lipids, anti-atherosclerosis and anti-aging. Experiments have shown that the water extract of Portulaca oleracea has a certain anti-inflammatory effect and has a significant inhibitory effect on the ear swelling of mice caused by xylene and croton oil. External application of purslane can constrict small blood vessels, reduce skin exudation, and alleviate skin redness and swelling. It can also astringe, reduce swelling, relieve itching, and control secondary infections.

3. Specific usage: Wash and squeeze the juice of fresh purslane, apply it to the affected area, 3 times a day, each time for 15 to 30 minutes, for 7 consecutive days.

4. Note: Avoid spicy food during treatment and stop using other oral or topical medications.
