What causes nosebleeds at night

Although nosebleeds are a normal thing under normal circumstances and it is OK as long as the bleeding is stopped in time, but no matter when a nosebleed may occur, it makes people feel particularly nervous. Sometimes when I am sleeping at night, I suddenly find myself bleeding from the nose. The feeling of being woken up by a nosebleed in the middle of the night is not just stressful, it is simply terrifying.

What causes nosebleeds in the middle of the night?

1 First of all, don’t make a fuss. It may be caused by dryness and lack of water. Drink more water in your daily life. Remember to drink a glass of water before going to bed at night.

2 Here you need to consider whether you have been suffering from internal heat recently. Internal heat can also cause nosebleeds. You should eat less internal heat-causing foods.

3 It is possible that the nasal mucosa is very fragile and easily ruptured, causing bleeding. In this case, you should see a doctor.

4 Colds can also cause nosebleeds. Xiao Jie had such an experience. He had a nosebleed due to a wind-heat cold. At this time, he had to cure the cold first and then consider removing the heat.

5 We also need to consider physical factors. It is possible that you hit your nose in a dream while sleeping at night.

6 When the lung qi is hot, it can also cause nosebleeds. In this case, you can avoid eating spicy and irritating foods.

7 There are many reasons for nose bleeding. If it is serious, you should go see a doctor directly and follow the doctor's advice. This is the best option.

How to stop a nosebleed

Method 1: Blow your ears

For example, if your left nostril is bleeding, just ask someone to blow gently a few times next to your right ear and it will stop. Isn’t it magical? It will stop flowing after a while.

Method 2: Paper towel

When your nose is bleeding, no matter how you wipe it, it won't work. This is a summary of my own experience: tear the paper into small pieces, roll it up and use it to block the bleeding nostril. After a while, take it out and the bleeding will stop.

Method 3: Pat your cheeks and forehead with clean water

I have tried this method several times. You can use your hands or a towel with more water and sprinkle it on your forehead and cheeks.

Method 4: Lift your head

If you have a nosebleed, raising your head is also a quick way to stop the bleeding.

Method 5: Use ice cubes

Put an ice cube next to your nose. Thermal expansion and contraction are real.

Method 6: See a doctor

If the nosebleed does not stop for more than half an hour, go to the doctor immediately! Human life is at stake.
