The difference between lung CT and chest X-ray

Many people will cough after catching a cold. Long-term and severe coughing will seriously affect a person's sleep and physical health. Therefore, after coughing for a long time, people will go to the hospital for examination. At this time, some doctors will prescribe a lung CT scan and ask the patient to do a CT scan. Some doctors will prescribe a chest X-ray and ask the patient to do a chest X-ray. Many people will wonder what is the difference between lung CT and chest X-ray?

1.The biggest difference between perspective and filming is that one is dynamic and the other is static! Filming is to emit radiation at one time and then project it onto film! Perspective means that rays are always generated.

2. CT is simply a multi-layer spiral scan! Multi-layer refers to, for example, a lung CT scan, which starts the scan from the apex of your lung, and then goes through layers of sections one by one until the entire lung is divided into several levels to complete the scan! The benefit of a CT scan is that you can see the location you are scanning in three dimensions! Can be rotated through different angles! Finally, let’s accurately determine the specific location of the lesion! Then based on the clinical characterization, determine what disease the lesion may be! And filming is a floor plan! Seems very intuitive! However, it cannot achieve the three-dimensional effect and accurate location of the lesion of CT!

3. CT film fluoroscopy: these three are harmful to the human body! But this statement is also inaccurate! If it is just a simple examination, the human body can withstand the absorbed X-rays! However, multiple scans, especially for children, are more harmful! The radiation mainly kills the white blood cells in the human body! It reduces the body's immunity and frequent exposure to radiation will cause hair loss! It's like chemotherapy!

4. The amount of radiation for each of the above examinations is different! Generally, X-rays have the least radiation! Because the rays are emitted at one time and the size of the rays emitted needs to be adjusted accordingly according to different parts! The second is perspective, and the rays of perspective are not many! But compared to filming, perspective is constantly coming out! CT has the highest amount of radiation! Because it is a spiral scan and it has many layers! Therefore, generally speaking, a chest CT scan is equivalent to taking hundreds of chest X-rays.
