Why is the urine routine white blood cell count 1+

The white blood cell count in urine routine is a plus, which is also a positive manifestation. However, if the result is only positive and there are not many abnormal conditions in the body, then there is no need to worry too much. The reasons for the increase in white blood cells in urine routine include urinary tract infection, chronic kidney deficiency and nephritis, or cystitis, prostatitis, etc. These diseases usually have an increase in white blood cells during examination.

1. Reference Value

A normal adult's urine may contain a small number of white blood cells, but it is abnormal if the number exceeds a certain level. Reference range: Microscopic examination: Normal people mix a drop of urine WBC 0-3/HPF, centrifuged urine WBC 0-5/HPF (WBC refers to white blood cells, HPF refers to high power field)

2. Its clinical significance:

Increased white blood cells in urine are seen in: urinary tract infection, chronic pyelonephritis, cystitis, prostatitis. When women's leucorrhea is mixed with urine, more white blood cells can also be found. In addition, due to allergic reactions caused by drugs, a large number of eosinophils (a type of white blood cells) will appear in the urine.

3. Diagnosis of urinary sensation

Symptoms: frequent urination, urgent urination, painful urination, backache or systemic poisoning symptoms. Physical examination: Upper urinary tract infection physical examination reveals renal area buckling pain, tenderness of both ureters, and percussion pain in the bladder area. Lower urinary tract infection often has no obvious symptoms. Auxiliary examination: Upper urinary tract infection requires an increase or decrease in WBC in blood routine test. Renal ultrasound shows that the kidneys are enlarged or deformed (to distinguish between acute and chronic). Urinalysis shows an increase in WBC, which may be accompanied by hematuria, but mostly with an increase in normal cells and trace proteinuria. Urine culture showed true bacteriuria (>10 to the power of 5). From the above description, we can only confirm that you may have frequent urination symptoms. There are no other clear symptoms. Gynecological inflammation stimulation, or hormone level disorders, etc. cannot be ruled out. It is recommended that you go to the hospital for treatment.
