What are the steps to do sledding?

Nowadays, most young people in cities don’t know what a sled is. In fact, sleds have different names in different places. For example, they are also called sleds. In addition, people in most areas call them sleds. This is a very convenient tool, especially suitable for use in mountains and dense forests. Here we will teach you how to make a sled by yourself.

How to do the sled:

If you need to carry heavy equipment across the snow in a survival situation, building a simple sled or boat-shaped sled can help you move it more efficiently. It can also be used to transport injured people or children. As long as the following principles are followed, sleds of various sizes can be made as needed.

Tools and Materials

Survival saw or pocket saw

knife

rope

Forked branch (sled body)

Two branches (supports)

Wooden stick (crossbar)

1. Use a short saw or knife to cut a forked branch to serve as the base of the sled.

Tie the two forked ends to the main trunk with a rope, which creates stress and causes the branch to bend, acting as a skateboard.

2. Tie extra branches to one side of the skateboard branch as support

Do the same on the other side

The braces strengthen the branches and prevent the rope from touching the ground - where it would quickly wear out and cause the sled to fall apart while moving.

3. Tie crossbars to the supports on both sides. These horizontal members strengthen the structure.

You can use all the bars you can find, but 3-4 should be enough.

These crossbars also form the cargo platform of the sled.

4. Use a branch to make a small handle. Make sure the handle is as smooth as possible so that the sled can be dragged more comfortably.

Attach the handle to the front of the sled with a long rope

Animal Power

Huskies, also known as sled dogs, are ideal for transporting people and equipment over winter terrain. Their thick coats can withstand cold temperatures, their large, long-haired paws allow them to move quickly over snow, and packs of sled dogs can work together to pull heavy equipment easily and efficiently.

Taking the dog on the road

Although Huskies are easy to care for and control, it takes a sufficiently trained expert to take them on an expedition. The same goes for all expeditions on the snowfields.

Human Resources

Towing your gear behind you is a very efficient way to get around in the snow. Boats are small, usually made of lightweight plastic, and come in a variety of sizes.
