Cefixime dosage

Cefixime dosage

I believe many people do not know the medicinal value of cefixime, let alone the dosage of this medicinal material, so when you want to take cefixime, you should follow the doctor's advice. Cefixime cannot be taken by pregnant women and children during breastfeeding, and it cannot be taken by patients who are allergic to penicillin. The dosage of cefixime for adults is 50-100 mg, so we should pay attention to this.

Precautions for taking cefixime

1. The safety and effectiveness of cefixime in pregnant and lactating women and children under 6 months of age have not been established, so it should be used with caution. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has classified cefixime as Class B for pregnancy safety. Lactating women should discontinue breastfeeding when taking cefixime.

2. The following patients should use with caution:

① Patients with a history of penicillin allergy;

② Those who have allergic constitutions themselves or their immediate family members;

③ Patients with renal insufficiency;

④ Patients who have difficulty in oral medication or non-oral nutrition intake, patients with systemic cachexia (due to the possible presence of vitamin K); ⑤ Patients with pseudomembranous colitis.

3. The treatment course for Streptococcus pyogenes infection is at least 10 days.

4. When the dose is the same, the blood concentration of the oral suspension is 25% to 50% higher than that of the oral tablets. Patients with otitis media should be treated with suspensions.

5. If you experience any adverse reactions after taking the medicine, you should go to the hospital for treatment. Can I take cefuroxime on an empty stomach?
