Viral herpes conjunctivitis

Causes

1. The most common microbial infections are bacteria, viruses, fungi, and chlamydia.

2. Physical sandstorms and chemical drugs

3. Allergic and immune.

2. Classification of herpetic conjunctivitis

According to the cause, it can be divided into bacterial and viral.

According to the course of the disease, it can be divided into acute and chronic.

3. Clinical manifestations of herpetic conjunctivitis

1. Conjunctival congestion and edema

Localized to a specific area, vesicular conjunctivitis.

Diffuse bright red color, with marked congestion in the fornix.

The congested blood vessels are on the surface of the conjunctiva, and when you push, the blood vessels move with you. After 1‰ epinephrine is dropped into the eye, the congestion disappears. In severe cases, conjunctival edema occurs.

2. Increased secretions

Bacterial serous, mucous, purulent.

Viral watery, serous.

Allergy or dry eye sticky stringy.

3. Subconjunctival hemorrhage

4. Nipples hyperplasia and follicle formation

Papillary hyperplasia is the excessive proliferation of the conjunctival epithelium and infiltration of polymorphonuclear leukocytes. Under the slit lamp, some dilated capillaries can be seen in the center of each papilla, spreading out in a spoke-like manner, with a tiny papillary or velvety appearance. A giant papilla is greater than 1 mm in diameter. Spring conjunctivitis, contact lenses.

The follicular conjunctival epithelium is characterized by localized accumulation of lymphocytes, which appear as hemispherical bulges with no blood vessels in the center and blood vessels surrounding the follicles. Seen in most viral conjunctivitis.
