How to clean glassware?

Glassware is a very commonly used tool in life. It has many functions. It is a container for people to hold objects and has a large volume. Glassware can also be used to hold some corrosive substances and is corrosion-resistant. However, glassware is easily contaminated with dirt and needs to be cleaned regularly, otherwise it will endanger people's health. Let's take a look at how to clean glassware. I hope everyone can understand.

When cleaning glassware, you should generally pour out the dirt first, then rinse with tap water, scrub with detergent, rinse the detergent with tap water, and finally rinse three times with pure water (distilled water or deionized water). The inner wall of the container cleaned in this way should be evenly moistened with water without any water droplets.

Glass instruments with precise scales, such as burettes, pipettes, pipettes, volumetric flasks, measuring cylinders, etc., should not be cleaned by brushing to avoid damaging the scale lines. It is best to use Yeadar laboratory dedicated cleaning and disinfection machine, special cleaning agents and cleaning procedures for spraying, rinsing and drying. Alternatively, soak in synthetic detergent or chromic acid solution for a while and then rinse.

Glass instruments such as cuvettes made of optical glass should not be scrubbed with a brush. When soaking them in cleaning solution, it is also necessary to prevent long-term immersion that may cause infiltration and a decrease in light transmittance. Because the cuvette usually has a color reaction, it is recommended to soak it in a synthetic detergent or hydrochloric acid-ethanol solution for a few minutes and then rinse it clean. Alternatively, use a laboratory-specific cleaning and disinfection machine, special cleaning agents and cleaning procedures for spray rinsing and blow drying.

When washing glassware, the principle of washing in small amounts and multiple times should be followed, which saves money and improves efficiency. Do not wipe the cleaned container with cloth or filter paper, as this will cause fibers or dirt to remain on the container and contaminate it. When drying, either hang it upside down to dry, or use a drying oven (if the final rinse was with a solvent, do not put it in a drying oven to avoid danger).
