How to store peeled jackfruit

How to store peeled jackfruit

Jackfruit is a very delicious fruit, it not only tastes good but also is rich in nutrition. Jackfruit is relatively large. If one person eats it, he will not be able to finish it in one go after opening it. So this involves the issue of preservation. The peeled jackfruit must be preserved carefully to avoid deterioration. It can be placed in a cool and ventilated place. Of course, the best way is to put it in the refrigerator. You should apply plastic wrap before putting it in the refrigerator.

How to store opened jackfruit

1. Cool and ventilated place

Wrap the peeled jackfruit with plastic wrap, then put it in a paper box or bamboo basket, lined with banana leaves or bamboo leaves, or shredded paper, and store it in a cool and ventilated place. Keep the storage temperature at around 11-13 degrees and the humidity at 85-95%. It can be stored for about 5 to 7 days. Of course, it is best to eat it within 5 days. If the temperature is too high, it will easily ferment after 5 days.

2. Refrigerate with plastic wrap

Wrap the peeled pineapple with plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator. It can be stored for about five days. But it is generally recommended to refrigerate it for two or three days, otherwise the taste will be affected.

(1) Refrigerate but do not freeze. Jackfruit should not be kept in the freezer for a long time, as the taste and nutrition will be greatly reduced. If you want to put it in the refrigerator, just put it in the cold room. Do not store it for long.

(2) If storing in the refrigerator, it is best to wrap it with plastic wrap or a fresh-keeping box to prevent the smell of other items in the refrigerator from contaminating the jackfruit, especially to keep it separate from seafood and freshwater fish.

3. Process into dried jackfruit

The leftover jackfruit can be processed directly into dried fruit. Use an oven or microwave to slowly bake it over low heat, turn it over halfway through, and gradually dry out the moisture. The dried jackfruit processed in this way can be stored for a long time.

How long can you keep peeled jackfruit?

Three days at most, it is recommended to eat it within three days. Jackfruits are prone to rot, especially in hot environments. If you don't have a refrigerator, you can clean the jackfruit, place it in an open fresh-keeping box and store it in ice water. It should be able to be kept until the next night.
