Methods for disinfecting HPV virus at home

The method of home disinfection of HPV virus is to use X-rays or Y-rays, or to control the indoor temperature, because HPV virus can be killed in a few seconds in an environment of 100 degrees. Chlorine-containing disinfectants or peracetic acid solutions can also be used for disinfection. For home methods of HPV virus, we can refer to the steps introduced in the article for disinfection and prevention.

HPV virus is cold-resistant but not heat-resistant. Under dry ice temperature (-70℃) and liquid nitrogen temperature (-196℃), the virus infectivity can remain for months to years. It can survive for 2 to 5 months in a -20℃ environment, for several days below 40℃, and for a long time in a dry environment. However, it can be inactivated after 30 minutes at 50℃ to 60℃, or a few seconds at 100℃. X-rays, gamma rays and ultraviolet rays can all inactivate viruses. Some commonly used disinfectants, including ethanol, isopropyl alcohol and glutaraldehyde products, cannot inactivate the virus, but HPV is vulnerable to other chemicals such as hypochlorous acid and peracetic acid. Therefore, households can use chlorine-containing disinfectants or peracetic acid for disinfection, such as the common 84 disinfectant.

If a family member is infected with HPV, in order to prevent cross infection, you should do the following in your daily life:

1. Fixed sexual partner. When one of the spouses is infected with HPV, the partner should go to the hospital for examination in time. It is best not to have sexual intercourse during the treatment period and use condoms when necessary. HPV is particularly easy to survive and proliferate in a warm and humid environment, so the external genitalia of both men and women are the most susceptible parts to infection. Men with foreskin that is too long can undergo circumcision to help prevent infection; women with cervical inflammation should also seek timely treatment to improve cervical resistance.

2. Pay attention to cleanliness and hygiene in the home to prevent contamination of clothing and other daily necessities. The patient's underwear should be washed separately and can be disinfected by boiling in hot water or soaking in chlorine-containing disinfectant. After washing, it should be exposed to direct sunlight for more than half an hour. Do not wash clothes together with children's and other family members' clothes. Hygiene products such as towels, bath towels, toothbrushes, razors, etc. should be disinfected and isolated. Adults and children should sleep in separate beds, bedding should be washed and dried frequently, bathtubs and washbasins should be used separately, and toilet seats should be scrubbed and disinfected every day. Household washing machines can be disinfected with 84 disinfectant every two or three months. Since HPV is transmitted through broken skin and mucous membranes, and its main route of transmission is sexual transmission, infection will not occur through daily contact such as eating, shaking hands, hugging, and using shared office supplies and household facilities.

3. HPV patients should maintain a healthy lifestyle, not smoke or drink, and improve their own immunity. Wash your hands before and after going to the toilet, pay attention to the cleanliness of your hands, and do not bring viruses in and out. Women should not flush the vagina and should not abuse antibiotics, otherwise it will damage the vaginal microecological environment and reduce the self-clearance rate of HPV virus. Normally, you only need to clean the vulva with clean water, do not wear tight underwear made of chemical fiber fabrics, use sanitary pads as little as possible, change underwear frequently and wash it in time to keep the private parts dry and fresh. Men should choose pure cotton, loose boxer briefs, avoid wearing tight pants, and do not wash underwear with socks, but wash and disinfect them separately.

Finally, HPV-positive patients need to go to the hospital for regular checkups. If they are infected with the HPV virus for a long time and cannot clear themselves, they need to seek medical attention in time to prevent the disease from worsening.
