Will adult teeth grow back after they fall out?

Each of us will have two sets of teeth in our lifetime. One is the deciduous teeth during infancy, which usually fall out by themselves when we are about 7 years old, and then we have adult teeth. Adult teeth will accompany us throughout our lives after they grow out. If a tooth falls out for some reason during this period, new teeth will not grow again, and the only option is to repair the teeth as soon as possible.

Will adult teeth grow back after they fall out?

1. First, we need to determine whether the tooth has fallen out completely or only the crown has fallen off after being broken. Generally, we need to go to the dental department to take a dental X-ray or a comprehensive X-ray to check whether there are any roots. If so, it is recommended to go to the oral and maxillofacial surgery department to remove the remaining roots under local anesthesia to provide the premise for the next step of restorative treatment. If there is no residual root, restorative treatment is usually performed about three months after the tooth is missing.

2. If you choose to have dental implants, you should first take a dental CT scan to check the condition of the alveolar bone in the edentulous area, including thickness, length and density. If all meet the dental implant standards and there are no other systemic diseases (such as hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, etc.), you can implant an implant of appropriate specifications under local anesthesia and perform restorative treatment after 3 to 6 months. Generally, porcelain crowns or all-ceramic crowns are chosen for restoration.

3. If you choose denture restoration, you can choose between removable dentures or fixed dentures. Removable dentures are low cost, but less comfortable to wear and can be made in the oral rehabilitation department. Fixed dentures are more comfortable, but they require grinding of adjacent teeth and making fixed bridges, which causes certain damage to adjacent teeth. The cost is moderate, and there are many denture materials to choose from, with a large difference in cost.

Ways to protect your teeth

1. Be sure to brush your teeth every morning and evening.

Brush your teeth for more than three minutes each time. Use warm water when brushing your teeth, which will slow down the rate at which your gums recede. Of course, you also need to brush your teeth correctly.

2. Toothpaste.

There are many types of toothpaste on the market, including fluoride toothpaste, anti-allergic toothpaste, whitening toothpaste and so on. Choose two or more toothpastes and switch between them in the morning and evening. After using it up this time, you can switch to another brand of toothpaste next time.

3. Brush your teeth or rinse your mouth after meals.

It is better to brush your teeth after meals. If conditions do not permit, you should also rinse your mouth to clean up the dirt left over from meals.

4. Diet.

Eat less acidic substances. Drink more water. Eating more fruits and vegetables and supplementing VC is good for gum growth.

5. Take rest on time.

Avoid getting too angry. Sometimes you have to stay up late, so you can try drinking tea.

6. Visit your dentist regularly.

It is important to see your dentist regularly. It allows you to detect problems in time and solve dental problems in time.

7. Do more dental exercises in daily life.

Just tapping your teeth when you have nothing to do, or chewing gum occasionally, or talking can relax your teeth and release bad breath to a certain extent.
