What is frequent urination

The main symptom of frequent urination is that you always want to go to the toilet, but the amount of urine you urinate each time is not much. Most people's frequent urination is mainly caused by urinary tract infection or kidney problems. Only those who go to the toilet more than a certain number of times a day are called frequent urination. Many people feel that they always go to the toilet, but they don't know whether their situation is considered frequent urination. Let's take a look at how often you go to the toilet to be considered frequent urination?

Frequent urination may be a symptom of urinary tract infection. It is recommended to take furantidine, total complexity and other drugs. Pay attention to local hygiene and avoid unclean sexual intercourse. If the symptoms are not relieved, you can go to the internal medicine department for examination. Frequent urination means urinating more than 8 times a day, more than 2 times at night, and the amount of each urination is less than 200ml, accompanied by incomplete urination, etc. Most of them are caused by urinary tract infection or urinary tract stones. A routine urine test and urinary system B-ultrasound examination are needed to determine whether there is an infection. Get prompt treatment.

How often does frequent urination occur during pregnancy?

A normal adult urinates 4-6 times during the day and 0-2 times at night. A significant increase in the number of urination times is called frequent urination. Frequent urination is a symptom, not a disease.

Frequent urination in pregnant women means that when they are not pregnant, they urinate an average of 4 to 6 times a day during the day and 0 to 2 times after going to bed at night. When the number of urinations during the day exceeds 7 times and the number of urinations at night exceeds 2 times, and the intervals between urinations are within 2 hours, it is medically called frequent urination. Pregnant women experience increased urination frequency and a feeling of not being able to urinate completely after urinating. This is a manifestation of frequent urination, which is related to the position of the uterus.

Precautions for frequent urination in pregnant women

1. Eat less diuretic food: Pregnant mothers should eat less diuretic food at night in the early and late stages of pregnancy. Foods such as watermelon, clams, poria cocos, winter melon, kelp, Alisma orientalis (health food), plantain, corn silk, etc. have good diuretic effects and should be avoided.

2. Avoid lying on your back: Pregnant mothers should take the side-lying position when resting and avoid lying on their back. Lying on your side can reduce the pressure of the uterus on the ureter and prevent infection caused by urine accumulation in the renal pelvis and ureter. In addition, experts remind pregnant mothers who are accustomed to sleeping on their backs to be careful of "supine hypotension syndrome", which can even lead to shock in severe cases.

3. Don’t hold your urine: The bladder that stores urine has a certain degree of elasticity. Normally, the bladder is very small, but when the amount of urine increases, the bladder becomes enlarged. If you do not urinate in time for a long time, the bladder will lose its elasticity and cannot return to its original state. In addition, this will prevent the body from excreting waste and may also cause uremia.
