What are the medicinal effects of Jianxi

Jianxi medicine is actually what we commonly call Andrographis paniculata, which is mainly used to treat exogenous fever, lung heat cough, cough and asthma, sore throat, eczema, itching and other problems. These symptoms are relatively common in life, so sometimes the use of these medicines is indispensable, but you also need to understand the usage and dosage to minimize the possible side effects of the drugs.

1. The efficacy and function of Yijianxi :

Andrographis paniculata, also known as Andrographis paniculata, is the whole herb or leaves of Andrographis paniculata of the Acanthaceae family. It is bitter and cold in nature. It has the effects of clearing away heat and detoxifying, reducing swelling and relieving pain, cooling blood and drying dampness. It is mainly used to treat exogenous fever, the initial stage of febrile disease; lung heat cough and asthma, lung abscess with pus vomiting, sore throat; damp-heat diarrhea, hot stranguria with astringent pain, eczema and itching; edema, sores, snake and insect bites. It is now mainly used for bacterial dysentery, urinary tract infection, acute tonsillitis, enteritis, pharyngitis, pneumonia and influenza, etc. It can be used externally to treat sores, boils, swellings, trauma infections, etc. Other names: Spring lotus and autumn willow, Andrographis paniculata, Olive-core lotus, Gallbladder grass, Snake-slaying sword, Conical whisker herb, A thousand-mile herb, Four-sided lotus, Golden vanilla, Golden ear hook, Spring lotus and summer willow, Indian grass, and Vallisneria.

2. How to eat Ichijianxi :

Usage and Dosage: For oral administration: decoction, 6-9 grams. Decoction can easily cause vomiting, so it is mostly made into pills, powders, and tablets. A large dose of a single herb can be up to 30-60 grams. Grind it into powder and take 0.6-3 grams each time. Put it into capsules and swallow or take it with boiled water. For external use: Take appropriate amount, mash or make into soft capsules and apply to the affected area, or decoct in water and drop into eyes or ears.

1. Yijianxi is used to treat cold, fever, headache and febrile diarrhea: Grind Yijianxi into powder. Take three parts each time, three times a day, with plain water. (Quanzhou Materia Medica)

2. Treatment of carbuncle and cellulitis: Three needles for five cents, One-Jianxi for five cents, Honeysuckle for three cents, Wild chrysanthemum for three cents, Seven-leaf monocotyledon for two cents. Decoction in water. (Jiangxi "Handbook of Herbs")

3. Yijianxi is used to treat lobar pneumonia: 6 qian of Yijianxi, 1 liang of Ilex glabra, 5 qian of Ophiopogon japonicus, 1 liang of Imperata root, and 5 qian of Honeysuckle. Decoction in water and take in two doses, one dose per day. (Jiangxi "Handbook of Herbs")

4. Ipomoea australis is used to treat influenza and pneumonia: Grind the dried leaves of Ipomoea australis into powder. Take one coin each time, three to four times a day. (Fujian Chinese Herbal Medicine)

5. Ipomoea australis is used to treat stomatitis and tonsillitis: Grind the dried leaves of Ipomoea australis into powder, one to one and a half qian. Mix with honey and take with boiled water. (Fujian Chinese Herbal Medicine)

3. Note :

1. It is not advisable to take Yijianxi for a long time; people with weak spleen and stomach should not use Yijianxi.

2. Adverse reactions: Oral administration of large doses of Andrographis paniculata and its various preparations may cause gastrointestinal discomfort and loss of appetite. It has been reported that Andrographis paniculata tablets and Andrographis paniculata injection can cause drug rash, upper abdominal pain, anaphylactic shock, and in severe cases, death. When using medication clinically, attention should be paid to dosage, and symptomatic treatment should be given promptly if adverse reactions occur.
