What are the dangers of wearing headphones for a long time

Headphones are a must-have item in our daily life. We often see people wearing headphones while walking or sleeping. In fact, the quality of headphones directly affects hearing. It is a great benefit to your ears to find a pair of headphones that are comfortable to wear and have a softer sound. Not only can you better appreciate the good sound quality, but more importantly, it can protect your hearing, because wearing headphones for a long time will definitely cause some damage to your hearing.

Listening to music with headphones frequently is harmful to your hearing. When you listen with headphones, the audio is concentrated on the vibrating plate of the small earphone, and the audio effect received by the eardrum is more concentrated than when playing with speakers. And along with the ups and downs of the music, the mind is always in a relatively tense state. At the same time, the distance between the vibrating membrane of the earphone and the eardrum is very close, the range of sound wave propagation is small and concentrated, and the stimulation to the auditory nerve of the eardrum is relatively large. Wearing headphones for a long time can cause headaches, memory loss, insomnia, and even lingering sound in the ears, affecting normal hearing.

In addition, experts also believe that because children's eardrums, middle ear ossicles and inner ear auditory cells are fragile, they will atrophy and cause hearing loss if they are stimulated by high sounds for a long time. Therefore, stereo music is also not suitable for children to listen to frequently.

In recent years, there has been an increasing number of cases of hearing loss among some young people who listen to music with headphones. This is because when people put on headphones, the opening of the external auditory canal is tightly blocked by the headphones. High-volume audio sound pressure can directly enter the ear and damage hearing, causing irreversible hearing damage.

If you listen to music with headphones for a long time, your hearing will become fatigued and damaged, causing hearing loss. The body will then experience irritability, dizziness, insomnia, memory loss, lack of concentration, slow thinking, abnormal psychological disorders, etc., which are very harmful to your health.

For this reason, when using headphones, you should pay attention to lowering the volume of music to make it soft and not harsh, and do not listen continuously for long periods of time. Experts recommend that adults should not use headphones for more than 3 to 4 hours a day. Teenagers should not use headphones for more than 1 to 2 hours a day because their auditory organs are not yet fully developed. Intermittent listening is preferred.
