Pu'er tea is rich in tea polyphenols, tea polysaccharides, vitamins and minerals. Tea polyphenols and tea saponins have antibacterial and anti-allergic effects. The aromatic substances in Pu'er tea have deodorizing and anti-inflammatory effects.

Pu'er tea contains a large amount of tannic acid, which has a strong bactericidal effect, especially effective against filamentous fungi that cause athlete's foot. Therefore, people suffering from athlete's foot can boil tea leaves into thick juice and use it to wash their feet every night, and the foot will be cured over time. However, washing feet with boiling tea requires persistence, and there will be no significant effect in a short period of time.

The tannins in Pu'er tea are mainly responsible for the bactericidal effect in treating athlete's foot. Tannic acid, also known as tannic acid, is a polyphenol compound that exists in plant tissues such as persimmon, tea, coffee, and pomegranate. The tannic acid content in these plants is particularly high when they are not yet mature.

The structure of tannic acid is very complex, but it can usually produce glucose, gallic acid or other polyphenolic acids (tannic acid) after hydrolysis. Tannin is related to astringency in food. It can form precipitates with protein, biota, and pectin, and can also form black substances with trivalent iron.

Tannins can act on bacteria, fungi and microorganisms, coagulate the proteins of bacteria and microorganisms, and kill them. People often use tannins for their bactericidal and astringent effects to treat intestinal diseases such as cholera, typhoid fever, dysentery, enteritis, etc. In addition, tannins also have anti-inflammatory and bactericidal effects on skin sores, ulcers and pus, oral inflammation, ulcers, sore throat, etc.

Is it better to use cooked tea or raw tea for foot bath?

When soaking your feet in Pu'er tea, is it better to use raw tea or cooked tea? My choice is very simple. I will choose the tea with more tannins.

According to the principle of fermentation, raw tea has more tannins than cooked tea, so I suggest using raw tea for making tea. Moreover, soaking your feet in raw tea will not produce black water, and it looks more comfortable.
