Is alanine aminotransferase 41 normal?

Is alanine aminotransferase 41 normal?

The normal value of alanine aminotransferase is around 0 to 40. If it is checked out to be 41, it means it is slightly above the standard. The reasons include acute hepatitis, taking drugs that are harmful to the liver, drinking alcohol for a long time or taking a one-time or relatively large dose. These will cause the pressure in the intestine to increase and cause alanine aminotransferase. It is necessary to choose the appropriate treatment plan according to the actual situation.

Normal value

The normal value of alanine aminotransferase is usually 0-40u/L. (Hospitals generally use the Reitman method for testing.)

Due to differences in hospital testing methods and testing agents, the normal value of alanine aminotransferase may vary.

Reasons for high

There are many reasons for the increase of ALT, such as acute hepatitis, taking drugs (especially drugs that damage the liver)

), long-term drinking or drinking a large dose at one time, as well as certain biliary diseases, heart failure in heart disease, fever and other symptoms can cause elevated alanine aminotransferase.

Simply having elevated transaminase levels (abnormal liver function) does not confirm that you have hepatitis. To be sure that you have hepatitis, the following three points must be met at the same time. That is, there are symptoms and signs of hepatitis (such as low-grade fever, aversion to oil, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, poor appetite, swollen and painful liver, etc.) and clinical diagnosis (such as acute icteric type, chronic protracted type, etc.); increased serum transaminase; etiological diagnosis (the presence of anti-hepatitis A antibodies is type A, and the presence of positive hepatitis B virus surface antigen, e antigen and core antibody is type B). Some people simply have high transaminase levels, but it is possible that there are interferences due to factors such as excessive drinking, strenuous exercise, working night shifts, colds, or taking certain oral medications before the test.

Alanine aminotransferase is mainly found in the liver, heart and skeletal muscle. Damage or necrosis of liver cells or certain tissues will increase the level of alanine aminotransferase in the blood. There are many clinical diseases that can cause abnormal transaminase, which must be identified.

1. Viral hepatitis This is the most common disease that causes elevated alanine aminotransferase (ALT). All types of acute and chronic viral hepatitis can lead to elevated alanine aminotransferase (ALT).

2. Toxic hepatitis: Many drugs and chemical agents can cause elevated levels of alanine aminotransferase (ALT), but after drug withdrawal, elevated levels of ALT can return to normal.

3. People who drink a lot or for a long time have elevated alanine aminotransferase (ALT).

4. Liver cirrhosis and liver cancer When liver cirrhosis is active, alanine aminotransferase (ALT) usually increases and should be actively treated.

5. Acute attacks of cholecystitis and cholelithiasis, a biliary disease, often cause fever, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, jaundice, and elevated blood bilirubin and alanine aminotransferase (ALT).

6. Heart disease: Acute myocardial infarction, myocarditis, and heart failure may cause elevated levels of alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase. Patients often experience chest pain, palpitations, shortness of breath, and edema. Cardiac examination showed positive signs and abnormal electrocardiogram.
