Stomach fire is a term in traditional Chinese medicine. If you often eat spicy food, this situation is more likely to occur. Many people do not know much about stomach fire. They always wait until some symptoms appear before they realize that they have strong stomach fire. Therefore, people should know the symptoms of stomach fire early so that they can get treatment as soon as possible.

Gastrointestinal symptoms include burning pain in the stomach, abdominal distension, dry mouth and bad breath, loose stools, constipation, swollen and painful gums, and poor appetite. Stomach fire can be divided into two types: deficiency and excess. Deficiency fire is manifested by a slight cough, poor appetite, constipation, abdominal distension, red tongue, and little coating; excess fire is manifested by upper abdominal discomfort, dry mouth and bitter taste, and dry and hard stools. Sometimes it is due to the consumption of yin fluid that leads to stomach deficiency and stomach fire inflammation, which will cause stomach qi to flow backwards and cause nausea. Stomach fire goes up along the meridians and causes toothache, gingival swelling, or nosebleed. The heat burns the stomach's veins, causing blood to overflow and cause hematemesis.

Stomach fire is stomach heat. Chinese medicine calls the irritability caused by improper diet, such as addiction to alcohol, addiction to spicy food, overeating of rich and delicious food, stomach fire, which is usually caused by damp heat and food stagnation. At the same time, fire is also caused by three major reasons: the quantity, quality and time of diet. People with a little stomach fire seem to never be full, which is actually an illusion given to the brain by stomach heat. When the fire reaches a certain stage, the stomach becomes inflamed and the person will not be able to eat anything. This can be said to be the end of the world.

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the regulation of stomach fire should follow the principles of clearing away heat and stagnation. One should be moderate in diet, eat less hot foods, eat less sweet and greasy foods, increase the intake of yellow-green vegetables and seasonal fruits to supplement the deficiency of vitamins and inorganic salts, and pay proper attention to oral hygiene. In terms of medical treatment, Sichuan lotus, rush flower, lotus seed core, Ophiopogon japonicus, etc. can be used to relieve stomach fire.
