Nowadays, many people like to have various kinds of seafood for three meals a day. No matter whether you go to Chinese, Korean or Western restaurants, seafood is indispensable. We will find that most of the seafood in Korea is raw, but we are worried that there may be parasites in the raw food, so we dare not eat too much. First of all, the seafood sold in regular restaurants can guarantee the quality, and there will not be too many parasites in the seafood. Some people now prefer the eating styles of Japanese, Korean and Western cuisine, spending a lot of money to taste raw meat and other game. This not only poses a risk of contracting various parasitic diseases, but also the possibility of contracting zoonotic infectious diseases such as mad cow disease, avian influenza, and rabies. Seafood tastes delicious and nutritious after being heated, but some people prefer to eat it raw or semi-raw. Raw seafood includes sashimi, frozen shrimp, raw river crab, drunken crab, drunken shrimp, salted aquatic products, hairy clams, etc.; semi-raw seafood includes seafood cooked by stir-frying, blanching, shabu-shabu, frying, and grilling, but the seafood is not consumed thoroughly. Raw and semi-raw seafood can also pose a risk of disease. Some people believe in folk remedies and eat raw frog meat, snake meat, snake gallbladder, fish gallbladder and other game in order to reduce internal heat, lose weight and reduce fat. However, not only do they fail to achieve their expected goals, but they also develop strange diseases, which can endanger their lives if they are not treated in time. These parasites can be completely killed by just cooking them for a few minutes. The parasite's cysts or eggs will still be alive several hours after being treated with mustard and vinegar, so for safety reasons, never eat uncooked seafood for the sake of a momentary taste bud. The dangers of parasites: The harm that parasites cause to the human body mainly includes two aspects: they act as pathogens to cause parasitic diseases and they act as vectors of disease transmission. Parasitic diseases pose a serious threat to human health and livestock and poultry production. In the vast developing countries, which account for 77% of the world's total population, especially in tropical and subtropical regions, parasitic diseases are still widely prevalent, threatening the health and even lives of children and adults. The harm caused by parasitic diseases remains a widespread public health problem. Of the six major tropical diseases that the Special Program on Tropical Diseases, a joint initiative of the United Nations Development Programme, the World Bank and the World Health Organization, requires to be prevented and treated, except for leprosy, the other five are parasitic diseases, namely malaria, schistosomiasis, filariasis, leishmaniasis and trypanosomiasis. |
