Myth 1: Ultraviolet rays are only very strong in very hot conditions. Reality: UV rays do not generate heat. For example, when people climb a mountain, the higher they go, the cooler the mountain breeze becomes, and the stronger the ultraviolet rays become. For every 1,000 meters you go, the UV rays increase by 10%. The same is true at sea: the sea breeze makes you feel cool, but the ultraviolet rays at this time are already extremely strong.

Myth 2: When the clouds are thick on cloudy days, ultraviolet rays will not harm the skin. The truth: Clouds have almost no shielding effect on ultraviolet rays. 90% of ultraviolet rays can penetrate the clouds. Only dark and thick rain clouds can block some ultraviolet rays.

Myth 3: Sunscreen will provide sun protection immediately after application. The truth: Since the active ingredients in sunscreen must penetrate into the surface of the stratum corneum to exert a long-term protective effect, it is necessary to wipe it off 30 minutes before going out, and replenish it again before going out. The dosage used must be at least 1 to 2 ml each time to achieve the best sun protection effect.

Myth 4: Forgetting to apply sunscreen a few times occasionally will not have much impact on your skin. The truth: Sun exposure is cumulative, so even if you are only exposed to the sun indirectly, the damage to your skin will accumulate over a long period of time. You may not see the consequences immediately, but over time it will cause tanning, spots on your face, loss of skin elasticity, wrinkles, and aging.
