First pharmacological action

This product has an inhibitory effect on prostatic hyperplasia of rats and mice induced by testosterone propionate and prostatic hyperplasia of mice implanted with urogenital sinus.

Second assay

Take 20 capsules of this product, pour out the contents, grind evenly, accurately weigh 1g, put it in a stoppered conical flask, accurately add 20ml of chloroform, weigh the weight, extract by ultrasonic for 20 minutes, make up the lost amount of chloroform, filter, accurately measure 10ml of the filtrate, evaporate to dryness in a water bath, dissolve the residue with methanol-chloroform (3:1) and transfer it to a 5ml volumetric flask, add methanol-chloroform (3:1) to the scale as the test solution. Take another psoralen reference substance and add methanol-chloroform (3:1) to prepare a solution containing 0.25 mg per 1 ml as the reference substance solution. According to the thin layer chromatography method (Appendix 57 of Part I of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia 1990 edition), 5 μl of the test sample solution and 1 μl and 3 μl of the reference sample solution were respectively crossed onto the same silica gel G thin layer plate containing sodium carboxymethyl cellulose as an adhesive, and developed twice with petroleum ether (60-90°C)-ethyl acetate (9:1) as a developing agent. The plate was taken out and dried in the air, and the spot positions were determined. The plate was scanned according to the thin layer chromatography method (Appendix VI B Thin Layer Scanning Method of Part I of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia 1995 edition) at a wavelength of 300 nm. The integral values ​​of the absorbance of the test sample and the reference sample were determined, and the result was obtained by calculation. Each capsule of this product contains not less than 0.12 mg of psoralen (C22H6O3).
