The most obvious sign of lung cancer

The most obvious sign of lung cancer

Lung cancer is a malignant tumor that originates from the lungs. Its symptoms vary, and there is no single most obvious sign. The more common symptoms of lung cancer include cough, sputum, fever, dyspnea, and other symptoms.

1. Cough: Cough is one of the most common symptoms of lung cancer, especially in the early stages of lung cancer. This type of cough is mostly paroxysmal, irritating, dry cough, with no sputum or a small amount of sputum. As the condition worsens, the number of coughs will gradually increase and may become more severe. When coughing is a sign of lung cancer, its characteristics may be different from coughs caused by other reasons, such as lasting longer and not being easy to relieve.

2. Coughing up phlegm: Lung cancer patients may have less phlegm in the early stage, but as the disease progresses and lung function is damaged, they may cough up a lot of phlegm. Sometimes the phlegm may contain blood, which is caused by the tumor invading the blood vessels of the bronchial mucosa.

3. Fever: When the tumor lesions gradually grow and block the trachea, it is easy to cause obstructive pneumonia, which in turn causes fever symptoms. This fever is generally low-grade, but it may also manifest as high fever due to secondary infection.

4. Dyspnea: Some lung cancer patients may experience dyspnea in the early stages, which manifests as wheezing and shortness of breath during activities. As the disease worsens, the dyspnea may become more severe and may even require oxygen therapy.

5. Other symptoms: Lung cancer patients may also experience chest pain, hoarseness, dysphagia, etc. The appearance of these symptoms may be related to the invasion of the tumor into surrounding tissues and organs.

It should be noted that the above symptoms are not unique to lung cancer and may also be caused by other diseases. When these symptoms occur, you should seek medical attention and undergo relevant examinations to confirm the diagnosis.
