Nowadays, more and more people are undergoing surgery for lumbar disc herniation, but many people report that they cannot recover quickly after the surgery. In fact, this is because they did not do a good job of postoperative care, and for this type of surgery, postoperative care is very important. People need to pay attention to care in terms of lifestyle, correct standing and sitting posture, functional exercise and regular check-ups. At the same time, they need to have a balanced diet and avoid cold stimulation. Only when many aspects are done well can they recover quickly. If you have undergone surgery for lumbar disc herniation, you can try to understand it. I believe there will be different recovery effects. 1. First, lifestyle. Patients who have undergone lumbar disc surgery need to lie on a hard bed after being discharged from the hospital. They can wear a waist belt and walk one month after the operation, but they should avoid sitting or standing for long periods of time. In daily life, keep warm and avoid cold stimulation. Develop good living habits and maintain an optimistic and cheerful mood. Quit smoking and drinking; eat a nutritious and balanced diet, and eat more foods rich in calcium, phosphorus, and vitamin D to promote calcium absorption. 2. Notes: ①Correct standing and sitting posture: Keep your waist close to the chair back when sitting, do not bend your waist and arch your back when standing, and maintain normal lumbar lordosis; avoid sudden force on the waist, and do not carry heavy objects. If you want to lift heavy objects by hand, you should bend your knees first and avoid bending over and exerting force; when maintaining a single posture for a long time or repeating a monotonous work for a long time, pay attention to changing posture and position regularly, and do simple relaxation exercises to relieve pressure on the lumbar intervertebral disc. ②Functional exercise: Persist in exercising the back muscles and limb functions for at least half a year. In the early stages, avoid bending the upper body downward or twisting the body excessively to the left and right to reduce the activity of the spine. Within 6 months, avoid strenuous activities such as bending over, carrying objects, and carrying loads; within 1 year after surgery, avoid running, jumping, bending over, and carrying loads as much as possible. 3. Regular review: Follow-up examinations should be conducted in a timely manner according to the doctor's recommended time, generally once a month for the first 3 months after discharge; and then go to the hospital for follow-up examinations every 6 and 12 months. 4. Functional training of waist and back muscles: Exercise should be performed as soon as possible after the operation to restore the function of the waist and back muscles. If the condition permits, a rehabilitation therapist should provide guidance and strictly control the amplitude, strength, frequency and time of the exercise movements. Individualized exercise should be performed according to the patient's age, physical strength, and postoperative recovery. Functional exercise should be gradual and persistent. Commonly used exercises: Five-point support method: In supine position, the patient uses the head, elbows and feet as support points to lift the back, waist and buttocks and stretch them backward in the air; Three-point support method: lying on the back, the patient puts his hands on his chest, supports himself with the top of his head and feet, props up the whole body in an arch shape, and stretches his waist and back as far as possible; Flying Swallow Pose: In prone position, the patient puts his lower limbs together and places his hands on both sides of the body. At the same time, he straightens and raises his head, with his hands raised behind him, using the abdomen as a fulcrum, like a flying swallow. Exercise the back muscles 3 to 4 times a day, 8 to 10 times each time. |
