Although it is very common to have static electricity on clothes, many people do not know how to remove it. They are often easily hit by static electricity when taking off or putting on clothes, especially close-fitting clothes are most likely to be hit. This will make people feel very annoyed and cause certain damage to the skin, making the skin become drier and lose its original moisture. Therefore, it is best to find a way to remove static electricity. At present, there are many ways to prevent the generation of static electricity, such as spraying some water-softening agent on the clothes, so that the clothes will not generate strong static electricity through friction. Method 1: How to quickly eliminate static electricity 1. First, quickly sweep the clothes with a metal hanger. Before putting on your clothes, quickly slide the wire hanger inside the clothes and sweep it. Metals discharge electrical current and therefore dissipate static electricity. You can also use other metal objects to sweep across your clothing to accomplish the same purpose. You can also pass the hanger between your skin and clothing after you put on your clothing. In fact, it’s best to put on your clothes immediately after using this method, or do it while the clothes are still on you. This method works especially well on delicate fabrics, such as silk. 2. Change your shoes. Shoes with leather soles instead of rubber soles. Rubber accumulates electrical charge, which creates static electricity. Wearing leather shoes helps you stay grounded because leather doesn't accumulate electrical charge as easily as rubber. 3. Spray fabric softener on your clothes. Mix fabric softener and water in a ratio of 1:30, pour into a spray bottle and spray on clothes with static electricity. This formula is just a rough estimate, however you should use more water than fabric softener. Spray on the parts of clothing that come into contact with the skin, especially the inside of clothing which is most likely to rub against the skin. 4.Hide a safety pin inside your clothes. Insert a metal pin into the seam on the inside of the garment. The metal releases any electrical charge that builds up in your clothing, preventing you from getting shocked or causing the clothing to stick to your skin. Pin the safety pin to the inside seam of your garment or any covered area. Avoid placing it on the front of your garment or near an exposed seam; pin it out of sight so others can't see it. 5. Wear a metal thimble on your thumb. Before your skin touches anything, touch it with a thimble. As with other methods using metals, the idea here is to avoid static electricity by dissipating electrical charges. If you don't have a metal thimble, touching any metal object will accomplish the same purpose. If you don't want to walk around with a metal thimble on your thumb, you can put it in your pocket and take it out when necessary. This method can also help reduce static electricity that builds up in your clothes as you move around. Note that this method is more effective at preventing static shock (electric shock) than preventing static cling, but it can also help prevent clothing from clinging to your skin. |
