How is cranial nerve damage diagnosed and treated?

The nervous system plays an important role in the human body. If the nervous system is damaged, it will cause great harm to people, especially the cranial nerves. If damaged, it will directly affect our brain and limbs, and even cause paralysis, numbness and pain in the limbs, and endanger our lives. If cranial nerves are damaged, it should be checked in time to identify the site and condition of the injury, and then restore the nerves, treat the nerves, and perform rehabilitation treatment. Only in this way can we avoid brain nerve damage and cause greater harm to human health.

1. First, determine the location and extent of nerve damage:

Judging the location and extent of nerve damage based on the symptoms that appear after nerve damage requires the doctor to have good knowledge of neuroanatomy and rich clinical experience to choose the correct treatment method for you.

2. Choice of treatment method:

From our clinical analysis of a large number of patients with peripheral nerve injuries, most of them are partial nerve injuries such as traction injuries, lacerations, etc., and a small number are complete transection injuries such as knife cuts. If the injury is caused by a knife, surgical nerve anastomosis is the first choice. If the injury is partial, rehabilitation treatment is the first choice.

3. Nerve recovery:

Nerve recovery is a very slow process. The recovery time varies depending on the degree of nerve damage. The longest recovery time for nerve damage is 1-2 years, the shortest is 1-2 months, and usually is 3-6 months.

4. Rehabilitation treatment:

Rehabilitation training and NMR neuromuscular electrical stimulation therapy are very effective, and rehabilitation treatment needs to be carried out according to the location of the patient's nerve damage and the location of the muscles affected by the nerves. To increase blood circulation to damaged nerves and provide nutrients for nerve regeneration. NMR-neuromuscular electrical stimulation was developed by our department in cooperation with Tsinghua University. It was mainly developed for the development of our department and is used for the rehabilitation treatment of nerve paralysis. After being used by a large number of patients, it has achieved satisfactory therapeutic effects, especially for brachial plexus injuries.

5. Overcoming fuzzy perceptions

In medical diagnosis and treatment, the more expensive the examination or treatment is, the better it is. What matters is choosing the most effective or correct treatment method for the condition. Many patients do not understand the laws of nerve damage and recovery, and blindly use expensive drugs and inappropriate treatments, resulting in a heavy financial burden and even lifelong disability.
