What are the side effects of Encavir?

Hepatitis B is a very common infectious disease in life. It is particularly harmful. People with hepatitis B will eventually be at risk of cirrhosis and liver cancer. Therefore, it is very important to receive correct treatment during the illness. Among the drugs for treating hepatitis B, Encavir is the most effective. It is a specific drug for hepatitis B that has the ability to block viral replication. However, many people know that long-term use of Encavir can cause serious side effects to the body and can even damage the original condition of the liver, making hepatitis B more serious. Let's take a look at the side effects of Encavir. I hope all hepatitis B patients can understand this.

Side effects of Entecavir:

Entecavir is nephrotoxic. If the drug is discontinued, the condition will be further aggravated and liver function will seriously deteriorate.

Long-term use of entecavir can cause the following adverse reactions: headache, fatigue, dizziness, nausea, feeling very weak or tired, muscle and heart pain, difficulty breathing, vomiting, abdominal pain and nausea, cold legs, feeling dizzy, irregular heartbeat (a serious sign of lactic acidosis - a buildup of acid in the blood), stomach discomfort (nausea) and other symptoms.

Long-term use of entecavir will cause hepatitis B patients to develop drug resistance. Generally, hepatitis B patients who take the drug for more than half a year will develop drug resistance, that is, no matter how much entecavir is taken, it will not work.

The main side effects of entecavir are as follows:

Entecavir cyclopentylguanosine analogue is an oral drug approved for marketing in China in 2005. It is mainly used for adults with chronic hepatitis B with active viral replication, persistently elevated alanine aminotransferase, or fluid lesions shown in liver histology. Of course, entecavir can have a certain effect on hepatitis B patients who use the drug for the first time. But for patients who take entecavir long-term, the disadvantages outweigh the benefits.
