Sudden hoarseness in throat? Do these checks well

Hoarseness is a common disease of the throat. Many people have hoarseness in the vocal cords when they speak. The voice is very low and sounds magnetic. Sudden hoarseness of the throat is an abnormal manifestation, which is mostly related to personal throat problems. Usually, you can go to the hospital for a throat examination to determine whether the adjacent tissues and organs of the throat have lesions or inflammation, check whether there are any unclear exposure phenomena, and find out the cause of hoarseness through multiple tests of throat function. In terms of treatment, you can combine a variety of methods, such as medication, surgery, oral medication, and local injection of drugs to achieve relief.

Hoarseness is the most common symptom of laryngeal disease. Hoarseness indicates that the lesion has affected the vocal cords. The degree of hoarseness varies. In mild cases, the voice becomes slightly coarser and the pitch becomes lower. In severe cases, the voice is obviously hoarse or even completely loss of voice.

examine

1. Indirect laryngoscopy: First, pay attention to the overall appearance of the larynx, including the shape, color, surface condition and glottal movement of each part. In addition to confirming whether the vocal cords are diseased, the adjacent tissues, especially the false vocal cords and pyriform sinus, should be carefully observed.

2. Direct laryngoscopy: When the throat is overly sensitive or the glottis is not clearly exposed during indirect laryngoscopy, this method or the suspended direct laryngoscopy method can be used for examination.

3. Fiberoptic laryngoscope examination: For patients with hoarseness who have difficulty opening their mouths and cannot undergo oropharyngeal examination or who are unsatisfactory through oropharyngeal examination, a fiberoptic laryngoscope can be used to examine the throat through the nasal cavity.

4. Laryngeal function examination: The pronunciation function of the larynx is very complex, and there are many ways to check the function of the larynx. Such as laryngeal dynamic endoscopy, high-speed photography and video recording of the larynx, laryngeal electromyography, glottomography, and spectrum analysis, which are of great value in examining the anatomy of the larynx, laryngeal muscle function and functional abnormalities, as well as early detection of lesions.

5. Laryngeal X-ray examination: Laryngeal X-ray plain films, tomographic films, laryngeal angiography and CT examination can be used. They are very valuable for the diagnosis of laryngeal foreign bodies, laryngeal stenosis, and cartilage fractures after laryngeal trauma. If necessary, MRI can help observe the invasion range of laryngeal tumors.

treat

Different treatments can be used for different diseases and different causes: inflammatory diseases are mainly treated with anti-inflammatory methods, combined with hormones, and local treatments include nebulization inhalation, blockade therapy, physical therapy, Chinese medicine, etc. Benign tumors are planned to be removed surgically, and malignant tumors can be treated with a combination of chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and surgery. Patients with damaged laryngeal motor nerves can choose laryngeal stent surgery and laryngeal neuromuscular surgery in addition to treating the primary lesions. Those with hysterical aphonia can use suggestive therapy and psychotherapy.
