What is the cause of flat warts

What is the cause of flat warts

Flat warts are a common infectious skin disease. After contracting flat warts, patients should prevent complications in the early stages of the disease. Therefore, many patients' families are concerned about the causes and treatments of flat warts. Flat warts are mostly caused by infectious viral infections and decreased immunity. In daily treatment, oral medications, laser treatment, or local freezing methods can be used to achieve therapeutic effects and prevent the frequent spread of flat warts.

Analysis and treatment of the causes of recurrence of flat warts

1. Causes of Flat Warts

1. Infection

Most patients are infected with flat warts by hitting others. There are two ways of spreading flat warts. One is through direct contact with the patient, such as shaking hands, hugging or having sexual intercourse. Another way is indirect contact, which is caused by infection with scabies through towels, slippers, etc. that are contaminated with the virus.

2. Direct infection by the virus

Flat warts are caused by papillomavirus invading the human body, which mainly enters the body through the respiratory tract. After infection with the virus, skin lesions will appear rapidly. There will be needle-sized papules on the skin, which will slowly bulge out and protrude into a dome shape.

3. Weak immunity

This is the internal cause of flat warts, such as some trauma or infection with other diseases, which causes the body's immunity to decrease. At this time, the human body's immunity is low, so it is easy to be infected with flat warts, especially some children and teenagers because their body's immune ability is relatively poor, and when affected by other factors, they are easily infected with flat warts.

4. Scratching your skin

Since itching occurs frequently, many people will develop secondary skin infections after scratching their skin, which makes it easy for the flat wart virus to take advantage of the opportunity to enter. For example, in many patients, flat warts are arranged in a band-like pattern, which is caused by scratches. Flat warts will be infected on the damaged skin at the scratches.

2. Treatment of flat warts

Oral medication is currently a commonly used method for treating flat warts. Patients can take oral antiviral drugs such as: Virulin, it is recommended to take 0.2 grams each time, 3 times a day, and one month as a course of treatment; or famciclovir, 0.2 grams each time, 2 times a day, the course of treatment is the same as before. Drugs to improve immunity: Take levamisole 50 mg orally, 3 times a day, take it for 3 days and stop for 11 days. Others: Take 25,000 units of vitamin A each time, 3 times a day. Take Lysozyme orally, 5 to 7 tablets each time, 3 times a day. Take methenamine orally, 0.3-0.5 g each time, 3 times a day.

The injectable medication for treating flat warts includes vitamin B12: 100 mg each time, intramuscularly once a day, for a course of 30 days. Transfer factor: subcutaneous injection, 2 ml each time, twice a week, a course of treatment is 30 days. Polymyxin B: intramuscular injection, 2 mg each time, once every 3 days, a course of treatment is 30 days. It can also be injected into the skin lesions, which has better therapeutic effect. Isatis root injection: intramuscular injection, twice a day, 2 ml each time, two weeks of injection as a course of treatment. At the same time, use 30 grams of Isatis root, boiled in water, to fumigate and wash the skin where warts occur, 2-3 times a day.

Topical drug therapy: If the patient with flat warts has mild redness or inflammation of the local skin, there is no need to stop the medication, because mild inflammation can promote the regression of flat warts. The method of use is: apply 5% fluorouracil ointment externally, and then apply 1% chloramphenicol ointment externally the next day, alternating the use to remove warts. You can also apply 0.1% retinoic acid ointment or 50% retinoic acid solution externally twice a day until the symptoms subside.
