Acupuncture is a medical technique inherited from ancient times, with many effects. Electroacupuncture is evolved from acupuncture. As the name suggests, it uses electricity to operate. After the needle is inserted into our acupuncture points, a trace amount of electricity is used to stimulate our acupuncture points to achieve the effect. If the current induction is strong, our muscles will contract. In addition, people with heart disease are not easy to do electroacupuncture. harm: Damage to nerves and blood vessels, causing tissue adhesion, infection, and indirect damage to internal organs; Broken needle, causing foreign matter to remain; The operation may induce other diseases, which is unpredictable. Directions: Before using the electroacupuncture machine, you must first adjust the intensity adjustment knob to zero (no output), and then connect the two electrodes of each pair of outputs on the electroacupuncture machine to the two filiform needles respectively. Generally, the same pair of output electrodes are connected to the same side of the body. When using electroacupuncture on acupuncture points on the chest and back, the two electrodes should not be connected across the two sides of the body, and the current should not be allowed to pass through the heart. When the power is on, adjust the button to increase the amount of electricity from zero to maximum. Be careful not to go from big to small, or to appear and disappear, or to be small and big at the same time. The amount of electricity used varies from person to person and is generally determined based on the patient's comfort level. In clinical treatment, the electricity is generally applied continuously for about 15 minutes, from low frequency to medium frequency, causing the patient to experience soreness, swelling, heat, etc., or rhythmic contraction of local muscles. When using electroacupuncture on a single acupoint, you can choose an acupoint where a major nerve trunk passes through (such as the Huantiao acupoint on the lower limb). After the needle is inserted, it is connected to one electrode of the electroacupuncture machine, and the other electrode is connected to gauze soaked in water as an unrelated electrode, which is fixed to the skin of the meridian on the same side. When performing electroacupuncture on a pair of adjacent acupoints, the two needles should be separated by a dry cotton ball to avoid short circuit, which may affect the efficacy and damage the machine. After the treatment, the power should be reduced to zero, the power should be turned off, and then the electrode clip should be removed from the needle handle and the needle inserted into the tissue should be pulled out. At the end of the operation, attention should be paid to counting the number of needles and checking the acupuncture sites to avoid missing needles or secondary bleeding. Note: ① Before each treatment, check whether the output of the electroacupuncture machine is normal. After treatment, all output adjustment buttons must be returned to zero, then the power supply must be turned off and the wires removed. ②Electroacupuncture has strong induction and will produce muscle contraction after electricity is turned on. This must be told to the patient in advance so that he or she can be mentally prepared and cooperate with the treatment. ③ For patients with severe heart disease, strict care should be taken during treatment to avoid the current loop passing through the heart; electroacupuncture should not be applied to acupoints near the medulla oblongata and precordial area to avoid inducing epilepsy and causing cardiac and respiratory arrest. ④ The surface of the handle of a filiform needle that has been used as a warm needle is often oxidized and has poor conductivity; some filiform needle handles are made of aluminum wire and oxidized to a golden color, and their conductivity is also poor. It is best not to use this type of filiform needle. If used, the output electrode must be clamped on the needle body. ⑤ During treatment, if the output current is intermittent, it is often due to a malfunction of the electroacupuncture machine or a broken wire, and it should be repaired before use. ⑥ After repeated use, the filiform needles are prone to damage and should be checked before disinfection to prevent breakage. |
