What are the exercise methods for lumbar disc herniation

Lumbar disc herniation is a common disease in our lives. It will not endanger our lives, but it can be very serious if not treated in time. The lumbar disc is located between the waist and buttocks and is caused by our unreasonable lifestyle. If women suffer from lumbar disc herniation, they are not allowed to wear high heels. Wearing high heels will only aggravate our condition and will do more harm than good.

method:

1. Bed rest is a very simple but effective measure that can be taken by patients with lumbar disc herniation. Bed rest is the basis of non-surgical treatment. The purpose of bed rest is to relieve the pressure on the spine and allow the protrusion that compresses the nerve roots to slowly recover. For patients with lumbar disc herniation with more severe symptoms, complete and sufficient bed rest is required, and a hard bed is best.

2. Traction therapy is one of the most commonly used treatments for patients with lumbar disc herniation. Traction therapy is a relatively effective decompression measure. It achieves the purpose of decompression and pain relief by physically stretching the spine. Traction therapy has a long history and obvious effects. Currently, there are many methods of traction therapy and great progress has been made.

3. Massage therapy Massage therapy is an integral part of traditional Chinese medicine. It has the advantages of simple method, comfort, effectiveness and few complications. It has been used as one of the comprehensive treatments for lumbar disc herniation.

4. Blockade therapy is a commonly used injection treatment method because it is safe, reliable and easy to operate. It includes methods such as local blocking of pain points, blocking of intervertebral foraminal nerve roots and acupoint blocking. It can relieve pain for a certain period of time.

5. Sacral canal injection therapy (sacral therapy) In recent years, a large number of clinical studies have confirmed that injecting different drugs into the sacral canal through the sacral foramen can provide targeted treatment for different diseases. It has a significant effect in relieving pain and restoring lumbar function in patients with low back and leg pain caused by lumbar disc herniation. It has been widely used in clinical practice by pain clinics at all levels of hospitals.

Causes:

1. Increased abdominal pressure such as severe coughing, straining during bowel movements due to constipation, etc.

2. Improper waist posture: When the waist is in a flexed position, if it is suddenly rotated, it can easily induce nucleus pulposus herniation.

3. Sudden weight bearing without adequate preparation will suddenly increase the load on the waist and easily cause nucleus pulposus herniation.

4. Acute trauma to the lumbar region can affect structures such as the annulus fibrosus and cartilage plate, while lumbar disc herniation can cause the degenerated nucleus pulposus to protrude.

5. Occupational factors, such as car drivers being in a sitting and bumpy state for a long time, can easily induce lumbar disc herniation.

Dietary arrangements:

Patients with lumbar disc herniation have reduced a certain amount of activity due to illness, so their food intake should also be reduced appropriately. Their gastrointestinal motility is slow and their digestive function is reduced, so they should arrange their diet reasonably, pay attention to eating small meals frequently, eat more vegetables, fruits and legumes, and eat more foods high in calcium, such as milk, dairy products, dried shrimps, kelp, sesame paste, soy products, etc., which are beneficial for calcium supplementation. However, patients who have already grown bone spurs (bone hyperplasia) in the lumbar spine should not consume too much calcium. Try to eat less meat and foods high in fat, as they can easily cause dry stools and straining during defecation, which can aggravate the condition.
