What are the methods to relieve itchy skin

There are many reasons for skin itching. It is a common skin disease in life. Its main manifestation is itching, and people usually scratch it uncontrollably, which causes damage to our skin. In severe cases, the whole body will itch. There are many diseases that cause itching, such as eczema, rubella, etc. If your skin is itchy, you can use ointment or go to the hospital for an injection.

method:

Treatment principles: Actively treat the primary disease, avoid contact with various inducements, calm itching, and combine systemic treatment with local treatment.

1. General treatment

(1) Find the cause and provide appropriate treatment.

(2) Avoid various external stimuli, pay attention to skin hygiene, combine work and rest, strive to lead a regular life, and limit smoking, alcohol, strong tea, coffee, spicy and other irritating foods.

2. Systemic treatment

(1) Oral or injection of antihistamines, 5-HT antagonists and sedatives. Such as chlorpheniramine (chlorpheniramine), diphenhydramine, cyproheptadine, cetirizine, astemizole, terfenadine, loratadine, cimetidine (cimetidine), ranitidine, diazepam (Valium), etc. These drugs can be selected according to the condition. H2 receptor antagonists alone have a certain effect on the pruritus caused by Hodgkin's disease and polycythemia.

(2) For patients with severe itching, 10% calcium gluconate can be injected intravenously or 0.25% procaine hydrochloride and 1.0-2.0g of vitamin C can be added to 500ml of normal saline or compound sodium chloride solution and dripped intravenously. Naloxone can be used for patients with intractable pruritus, but it is potentially addictive.

(3) For menopausal or elderly pruritus, male patients can choose to use testosterone propionate 50 mg intramuscular injection 2 to 3 times a week, or nandrolone phenylpropionate tablets 25 to 50 mg intramuscular injection 2 to 3 times a week; female patients can take diethylstilbestrol 1 mg orally once a day.

(4) For those with dry skin, 50,000 U/d of vitamin A can be taken orally or injected.

(5) For pruritus caused by cholestatic diseases or uremia, cholestyramine (cholestyramine) can be used, 5 to 8 g per day.

(6) Rifampicin can be used to treat pruritus caused by primary biliary cirrhosis, but it is toxic to the liver, so further observation is needed to determine its safety.

(7) For pruritus with obvious psychological factors, tricyclic antidepressants such as doxepin can be used.

Internal factors include systemic diseases, such as endocrine diseases (diabetes, hyperthyroidism, carcinoid syndrome, etc.), hepatobiliary diseases (primary biliary cirrhosis, biliary obstruction, etc.), kidney diseases (chronic renal failure, chronic hemodialysis disease), blood diseases (iron deficiency anemia, polycythemia vera, etc.), malignant tumors (lymphoma, leukemia, etc.), neurological diseases (spinal cord disease, paralytic dementia, etc.), infectious diseases (AIDS, tuberculosis, filariasis, etc.), etc. External factors are related to physical (fever, cold, etc.), mechanical (friction, etc.), chemical stimulation (acids and alkalis, etc.), food (spicy food), and drugs (belladonna, cimetidine, chloroquine, etc.).
