Symptoms of segmental leukoplakia

Symptoms of segmental leukoplakia

Although there are many types of vitiligo in medicine, in daily life, the vitiligo people talk about is vitiligo. Everyone knows that it is the loss of melanin in the skin that leads to the appearance of white patches, but in fact there are several types of vitiligo. What we are going to talk about today is segmental vitiligo, which can also be called localized vitiligo. When the disease occurs, it is limited to a certain part. Let’s talk about the specific symptoms of segmental vitiligo.

The specific clinical manifestations of segmental leukoplakia are as follows:

1. The symptoms of segmental vitiligo are incomplete depigmentation of the white spots, visible pigment spots in the white spots, a decrease in the number of melanocytes in the white spot tissue, and a positive reaction to dihydroxyphenylalanine. The symptoms of stage vitiligo complete vitiligo are pure white or porcelain white white spots, no pigment regeneration in the white spots, disappearance of melanocytes in the white spot tissue, and negative reaction to dihydroxyphenylalanine.

2. Segmental vitiligo can cause sympathetic nerve disorders in patients, resulting in abnormal hormone secretion in the patient's body. The secretion of certain hormones will affect the synthesis of melanocytes in the patient's skin. When the synthesis of melanin in the patient's skin is blocked, white spots will appear on the body, leading to segmental vitiligo.

3. The incidence of segmental vitiligo accounts for 5% to 27.9% of the total number of vitiligo cases. The number of white spots in segmental vitiligo is generally one or several, which are usually distributed along the skin area innervated by a certain nerve stage of the patient. The distribution is generally very regular and often unilateral. Clinically, vitiligo can be divided into two types according to its symptoms: complete vitiligo and incomplete vitiligo.

Vitiligo is a very scary skin disease. Although it will not endanger the patient's life, the disease mainly occurs on the surface of the skin, which has a certain impact on the patient's appearance. It causes psychological trauma to many patients, and some even fall into inferiority and cannot extricate themselves. So it is important to learn more about diseases so that we can be prepared and take charge of our own lives.
