From the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, the most ideal state is when the body's yin and yang are in harmony, and the body is very healthy at this time. However, if yang deficiency or yin deficiency occurs, the body's immunity will be reduced. There are also differences between yang deficiency and yin deficiency. For example, the symptoms of yang deficiency are fear of cold and lack of energy, while yin deficiency can cause insomnia, tinnitus, etc. Symptoms of Yang Deficiency Yang deficiency refers to a condition in which Yang Qi is weak. So when Yang deficiency occurs, what symptoms will the patient have? Let's take a look at it together. 1. Fear of cold, cold limbs This is the most important symptom of yang deficiency. Yang Energy is like the sun in nature. If Yang Energy is insufficient, the internal environment will be in a "cold" state. 2. Undigested food It refers to undigested food mixed in the stool. The ancients had a vivid metaphor to describe the occurrence of this phenomenon. The digestion of food is like cooking raw rice into cooked rice, the stomach is like the pot for cooking, and the yang energy is like the fire for cooking. Without "fire", rice cannot be cooked into "rice". Therefore, when the Yang Qi is insufficient, the food that enters the stomach cannot be well "roasted" (digested) and is directly discharged from the intestines. 3. Lack of energy When the patient has insufficient Yang Qi, the vital activities of cells will decline, and the patient will often appear lethargic and lazy. 4. Pale and fat tongue, or with teeth marks The consumption and metabolism of water in the body depends on the transpiration of Yang Qi. If the Yang Qi is weak and the water is insufficiently consumed by evaporation, excess water will accumulate in the body, causing an enlarged tongue. The tongue is enlarged and has tooth marks due to being squeezed by the teeth. 5. Deep and fine pulse The Yang Qi is insufficient to stimulate the arteries, so the pulse is deep, thin and weak. Symptoms of Yin Deficiency 1. The basic characteristics of Yin deficiency and internal heat are dryness and lack of moisture, internal heat, dry and red tongue with little coating, and susceptibility to tuberculosis, pulmonary tuberculosis or long-term dry cough. 2. Insomnia, tinnitus, forgetfulness, and dry eyes. 3. Skin spots. People with Yin deficiency constitution have internal heat and dryness, and are more likely to have dry skin, dull complexion, or more pigmentation spots or recurrent oral ulcers. 4. People with Yin deficiency constitution who also have a tendency to blood stasis are more likely to develop tumors. 5. People with Yin deficiency will still have high blood lipids even if they are very thin. When Yin deficiency reaches a certain degree, the blood will become viscous, and they will suffer from high blood lipids and high blood pressure. |
