What are the symptoms of liver mass?

In fact, liver mass is a noun for an image. Liver mass indicates that an abnormal object appears in the liver of the body. It can also be said to be an abnormal object. This is liver mass. There are many causes of liver mass, such as parasites, stones, tumors, etc. Therefore, when liver mass occurs, further examination is generally required to be more accurate.

The details of liver lesions are as follows:

Liver space-occupying lesions are just a special term in medical imaging diagnosis. They are usually found in the results of B-ultrasound, CT, and MRI examinations. It generally refers to the presence of "something extra" in the liver being examined, without involving the cause of the disease. It includes tumors (benign and malignant), parasites, stones and other diseases of different natures. It is not a synonym for liver cancer and is usually used for diagnosis when imaging examinations are difficult to confirm. Liver space-occupying lesions can be divided into malignant space-occupying lesions and benign space-occupying lesions according to their nature. Malignant liver space-occupying lesions mainly include liver cancer, liver sarcoma, etc., among which liver cancer is the most common. Benign liver space-occupying lesions are much rarer than malignant space-occupying lesions, accounting for about 5%-10% of the original liver space-occupying lesions.

Benign liver space-occupying lesions can be roughly divided into two types: cystic space-occupying and solid space-occupying. The former mainly includes liver cysts, liver abscesses, hepatic echinococcosis, etc., among which congenital liver cysts (commonly known as liver cysts) are more common; the latter mainly include hepatic hemangioma, hepatocellular adenoma, inflammatory pseudotumor, hepatic tumor-like hyperplasia, etc., among which hepatic hemangioma is very common.

Diagnosis of liver space-occupying lesions

The incidence of primary liver cancer may increase. In 2000, the number of primary liver cancer cases in my country (including Taiwan) was 347,000, accounting for about 50% of the world's primary liver cancer cases. At the same time, the number of deaths from primary liver cancer has not decreased. The average death rate from primary liver cancer in my country is 20.40/100,000/year (19.98/100,000/year in cities and 23.59/100,000/year in rural areas). Liver cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in my country. Primary liver cancer is more common in middle-aged men. The early symptoms of cancer are not obvious and are often discovered through general screening or imaging examinations. Since ultrasound examination is a widely used and economical examination method, it should be performed when AFP is positive or liver cancer is suspected. CT scan and MRI have good repeatability and are the main methods for detecting liver tumors.

1. CT examination:

Currently, CT scanning, especially dynamic enhanced CT scanning, has become a very commonly used examination method for liver diseases. Since it was used in clinical practice in the 1970s, the examination technology has become increasingly sophisticated and its accuracy has continued to improve.

2. Magnetic resonance imaging manifestations of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC):

HCC can be newly diagnosed or arise from atypical hyperplasia of cells. Recently, the results of a multicenter study showed that dysplastic nodules are precursor lesions of HCC. At the same time, with the close monitoring and regular screening of patients with viral hepatitis and cirrhosis in recent years, the detection rate of early HCC has increased significantly. HCC is mostly supplied by the hepatic artery, and the hepatic vein and portal vein proliferate along the tumor to form a spongy structure.
