Will urethral dilation be painful?

In fact, urethral dilation is a common way to treat urethral diseases. It is also common for urethral dilation to cause severe pain, so patients should not worry too much. As long as the corresponding examinations and care are done, there will be no pain after the disease is cured. There are also some things to pay attention to during the process of urethral dilation.

Male urethral stenosis is a common disease in urology and can be divided into three categories according to its cause: congenital, inflammatory and traumatic. Congenital urethral stenosis is less common, such as congenital stenosis of the external urethral orifice, urethral valves, hypertrophy of the seminal vesicles, and narrowing of the urethral lumen. Inflammatory urethral strictures are caused by specific or nonspecific urethral infections.

Among specific infections, gonorrheal urethral stenosis is more common; among nonspecific infections, urethral stenosis of the external urethral orifice and penile urethra caused by repeated inflammation of the foreskin and glans penis is common. Inflammatory urethral stenosis caused by improper placement of urinary catheters has attracted widespread attention. This type of stenosis is mostly seen in the cavernous urethra and has a wide range. Traumatic urethral stenosis is the most common acquired urethral stenosis. The site of stenosis depends on the site of injury. Those caused by perineal straddle injuries are mostly in the bulbar urethra. Those caused by pelvic fractures are located in the membranous part or the prostatic tip of the urethra. Generally, the stricture section is not long, but the scar is relatively hard.

The main indications for urethral stricture dilation are to prevent and treat urethral strictures caused by inflammation, trauma, and urethra surgery. Urethral stricture dilatation is used to treat urethral stricture. On the one hand, it plays a mechanical role in dilating the stricture area. On the other hand, it plays a massage role, enhancing local blood circulation, and promoting scar softening and infiltration absorption.

After the operation is successful, men generally need to take timely and safe measures to prevent the invasion of bacteria. In addition, it is very important to drink plenty of water after surgery to promote the excretion of urine. If you find bleeding when urinating, you must go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time.
